New Voting System Idea!

I was thinking that when voting for a map, you don’t always get a gamemode that you’d like.

So what I was thinking is that they do two voting systems, one for the map, and one for the gamemode.

That way people will more likely get a more satisfied vote.

This would not help anything.

Example:
I like playing CTF on Ragnarok, but I hate neutral flag on Ragnarok. I would prefer neutral flag on Exile. I vote Ragnarok and 2-flag CTF. Ragnarok wins by 1 vote (which is because I voted for it) and neutral CTF wins the gametype. I just voted in my least favorite map/gametype combo.

Note: This is only an example. I am not making any statements about my map/gametype preferences.

The issue is that not all game types work well on all maps man. Good idea but I don’t think it would work well for halo particularly! Would be good for other games though.

i like the idea of this, on the downside, i think it would give more power to clans that would abuse the voting, they would vote to benefit them as a team based on the map and mode. I think if they were to do something like this, you would vote for the map first (3 choices), and a limited amount of game mode choices (around 3 ),

And if the map is designed small, there should be no Big team battle, or Team snipers options, its needs team slayer and Rumble pit for those gamemodes, however as im writing this, i just thought about another problem with rumble pit. Say if someone wants to party up with friends and play team play, but go online and consecutively play rumble pit, it would ruin there experience, so they would need a team play playlist and FFA playlist, but thats really stupid as there would be infection, Rumble pit and regicide as the main free for all modes, it be stupid to only have 3 modes but 343 could make more FFA modes.

As long as its not the halo 3 veto -Yoink-, id be happy,
“-Yoinking!- SNOWBOUND, VETO, VETO THAT -Yoink-”

I think I’d rather have just a simple voting system that ensures I get to play a variety of maps and game types, rather than getting the same options over and over again, which is what always seemed to happen in Halo 4.

I proposed this exact idea for Halo 4, so obviously my answer is Yes!

> The issue is that not all game types work well on all maps man.

It could still work as long as the second voting round is dependant on the first. For example 2 flag CTF would never come up as an option if High Ground is voted for in the first round.

It would work better still if the game intelligently picks the voting options to ensure variety (the game would have to monitor each player’s history).

The only problem I can see coming from this is that it will add time to the matchmaking process. People are gonna get impatient with having to vote twice to play one game…

Not really, your only voting twice, which sometimes happened in Reach with the ‘non of the above’ option.

And to avoid getting the same game type all the time, they should vary the gamemodes available, such as changing what’s available the next game and maybe remove a mode on the next vote if it’s used too much.

I’d rather 343i drop the voting system in general. It’s time we go back to the better veto system.
