New Vehicle REQ ideas (Warning:lots of text)

I personally love vehicles and I love how they added more lore based weapons and vehicles into the game, but they can do far more than what they have now. The lore is the perfect place to do digging for these new REQs although some maps may seem a little small for these Ideas. What are your thoughts about these? Please post your thoughts and opinions in the comment section.

Human Vehicles

  • M850 Main Battle Tank (aka the Grizzly)“The Grizzly is protected by thick armor plating which allows it to survive even the fiercest attacks and features dual M310 120mm Smooth-Bore High-Velocity Cannons mounted in its turret. These cannons can easily punch a hole through almost any Covenant vehicle and fire S1 canister shells to decimate infantry formations. A co-axially mounted M247T Medium Machine Gun gives it additional firepower.[1][4] Smoke grenades were mounted near the turret…he Grizzly is an extremely capable vehicle, capable of defeating large numbers of enemy troops and vehicles. Since it possesses a secondary canister shell attack, it can crush infantry with ease due to its large blast radius. The armor plating has also been improved, able to absorb multiple shots from aHunter’s assault cannon, and can survive a sustained hit from a Scarab’s main weapon twice as long as a Scorpion. The coaxial machine gun has a faster firing rate and inflicts more damage per hit than the Scorpion’s, at the cost of a longer reload time. Its main disadvantages is the cost it requires to be researched, its reduced effectiveness against other vehicles and its ineffectiveness against airborne units; it is also extremely slow because of its increased weaponry and armour.” - M-145D Mobile artillery platform (aka Rhino) “The centerpiece of the Rhino is its experimental 320mm main cannon codenamed “Zeus.” Based on technology recovered following the Liberation of Harvest, the cannon harnesses and directs plasma energy in a manner similar to other Plasma weaponry. However in order to fire its Zeus cannon the Rhino must be engaged in lockdown mode, rendering the vehicle immobile. It is for this reason that the Rhino features an unorthodox orientation for its six tread tracks and is much wider than the Scorpion or even Grizzly tanks.[1]” - M9 Main Anti-Aircraft Tank( aka Wolverine) “As the name suggests, the M9 Main Anti-Aircraft Tank is designed for anti-air combat. In its arsenal consists of a M260 Multiple Launch Rocket System[1] which fire Argent V Missiles specialized to target and deliver their warhead to an aircraft with great speed and maneuverability. The missile pods are quite large and can be reloaded via a mechanical system in the Wolverine, which stores a small supply of missiles on board.[4]The laser tracking[2] targeting systems and anti-air capabilities of the Wolverine are second to none, but it can also angle its missile pods to launch missiles at ground targets, preferably stationary targets or structures. Although air vehicles generally know to steer clear, the Wolverine is quite vulnerable to anti-armor attacks both from vehicles or heavily armed infantry,[4] possessing only light armor. However, it is a versatile unit for rough terrain operations.[2]
The driver has the use of a pivoting[2] XM511 Heavy Grenade Launcher for defense from ground attacks, which can potentially wreck soft targets, but this support vehicle relies on heavier units to defend it from a determined attack.[4]” - Siege Bike:“The Siege Bike is designed as the counterpart toCovenant single-manned rapid assault vehicles, like theGhost or Brute Chopper. Positioned on a heavy-grade, all-terrain single traction tread, the Siege Bike can easily traverse challenging environments, reaching speeds of over 145kph (90 mph) while maintaining incredible control and field dexterity. The forward-facing armor plate protects the operator while displaying Intel for tactical information, as well as firing system controls.
The Siege Bike’s armament is a side-mounted heavy machine gun (M268 HMG) with spectrum-enhanced visual tracking functionality, designed specifically to target well-fortified enemy strongholds and barricades. The goal of the UNSC Siege Bike is simple yet brutal: through the deployment of multiple, heavily armed and swift Siege Bikes, offensive assaults can form an unstoppable wall of firepower, quickly tearing through enemy defenses.” - M312 Heavy Recovery Vehicle (aka the Elephant) “he Elephant is a mobile command base and repair vehicle and is able to pull an entireShaw-Fujikawa Translight Engine by itself.[6] It is armed with a forward M41 LAAG on the top right and a AIE-486H Heavy Machine Gun on the mid left.[7] It is a three-level vehicle with the bottom level, the respawn locale that opens out into the rear cargo tray, the second level, a walkway around the cargo ramp and leads onto the driver’s cabin, then a small elevated third level where the M41 LAAG is assembled. It features a crane, numerous firing ports and elevated positions for defending it. It has four tracks set up on each side of the chassis. Its chassis is as high as they are wide, providing stability. The Elephant can house a Mongoose in its lower bay, and can hold up to an additional three Mongooses in the front with two in the back with two Warthogs.” - M831 Troop Transport (aka the Troop Hog)“The M831 is first and foremost a transport used to quickly ferry troops from one location to another. While obviously an important piece of UNSC field equipment, the M831 is rarely committed to combat because of its equally obvious lack of weaponry, with the rear bed of the vehicle featuring an expanded seating compartment. In its most common and optimal configuration the M831 has a transport capacity of four passengers, though with others it is possible to seat up to ten.[1]
While uncommon in this role, the M831 can be used for offensive purposes. When properly armed the vehicle’s crew and passengers can cover nearly all angles of fire at a given time, giving it a type of lethality not seen in other Warthog variants.[1]” - <em>UH-144 Falcon: "</em>Two Falcons can transport a fully-equipped fireteamfaster than any other previous system, and provide overwhelming fire support in most weather conditions. The aircraft’s crew consists of one pilot, two crewmen who may serve as door gunners, and three passengers. However, in multiplayer, there is only room for the pilot and gunners.[14]There are two versions of the Falcon. Both have a chin-mounted autocannon, but the UH-144A has two side-mounted grenade launchers[15] while the UH-144S instead has two side-mounted machine guns.[16" - _AV-14 Attack VTOL( aka the Hornet): "_The AV-14 Hornet consists of a one-man cockpit and a rear section, extending approximately one meter backward. Variant models feature a tandem seating configuration, presumably allowing a second passenger to operate the aircraft’s weaponry or navigation systems.[3] At the top of this rear section are a set of wings with turbofan engines mounted on gimbals at the ends, providing the Hornet’s main source of propulsion. The front of the Hornet contains a target acquisition and designation system which includes cameras and sensors. On each side of the cockpit is a jump-seat extending backward that doubles as a landing skid. These skids allow up to four passengers, though the additional weight runs the risk of overloading the aircraft"

The Elephant would be hard to implement. The Rhino would feel useless due to its immobility. The Grizzly might feel redundant compared to the Scorpion. The Siege Bike and Troop Transport Hog would be nice, but I think that the Brute Chopper would be better and we already have the Scout Hog. What would be cool would be the AV-130 Kestrel, which is practically a human equivalent of the Ghost with the firepower of a Chopper, only without boost.

sounds nice but then reality strikes and realize 343 doesnt give a -Yoink-

Covenant vehicles:

  • Type-29 Troop/Vehicle Transport( aka the Shadow): “The Shadow is a dedicated troop and vehicle transport machine of the Covenant, similar to the UNSC Warthogand the UNSC Elephant. As such, it is not an offensive vehicle, and due to its low speed, it can be characterised as slow and cumbersome. However, it possesses a powerful defensive plasma turret (similar to the Elephant’s turret), which is used solely for defense. The vehicle itself can be easily outmaneuvered by smaller vehicles such as theWarthog or Ghost. Its heavy armor is its best defense against attack and is the reason for its slow speed.
The vehicle itself is almost always manned by aSangheili driver and a gunner. Shadows encountered so far have been observed transporting one unmanned Ghost and therefore had a crew complement of only two. Infantry transport versions are typically able to carry approximately eight passengers, though the exact number varies depending on their species. Although the transport bay is exposed, it is unknown if these passengers could lend their own firepower to the Shadow’s defense. In addition, whether this is a variant of the Shadow or not, they are capable of flight.[4]” - Type-46 Infantry Support Vehicle(aka the Specter):“The Spectre is a multi-sized, multi-troop armored transport vehicle of the Covenant military. The Spectre, like many other Covenant vehicles, has the ability to rapidly increase its speed with the aid ofpropulsion drive, but at the cost of great maneuverability. It offers two seating positions for additional passengers and thus allows them to add to the vehicle’s firepower with their own weaponry. However, these seats are completely exposed and as such the passengers are very vulnerable to small arms fire and splash damage from nearby explosions. A protective metal hull shields the driver’s seat to some extent; the hull leaves the driver’s upper body exposed to small arms and explosive fire.
The Spectre features a rear-mounted Plasma Turret as its primary armament which is capable of 360 degree firing arc and rapidly depleting an enemy’s energy shield and suppress their advancement due to its high rate of fire. It provides a stable, mobile gun platform for heavy anti-infantry fire and a method of delivering troops into the heart of a battle.” - Type-48 Light Assault Gun Carriage (aka the Reverent): “he Revenant is a light infantry support vehicle with driving mechanics similar to those of the Type-32 Rapid Assault Vehicle. Historically it was designed to fill in the gap between the Type-32 and Type-26 Assault Gun Carriage, and while that role would be replaced at times by the Type-46 and Type-52 Infantry Support Vehicles, the Revenant was the most effective. Originating from an older, cruder Sangheili design, the Revenant is one of the few vehicles produced by Merchants of Qikost and is an example of Covenant private sector innovation. It is armed with a single Class-2 Plasma Mortar, essentially a downscaled, less powerful version of the plasma mortar mounted on the Wraith. The Revenant is more agile than most vehicles and has the ability to boost, but provides little protection for its occupants. It can carry one passenger in a side seat.[1][3][4]” - Type-25 Rapid Assault Vehicle (aka the Chopper): “The Brute Chopper is a heavily-armored, dual-wheeled assault vehicle, kept aloft by a gravity array under the seat at the rear and a massive double wheel in the front (which supports the vehicle’s balance by its axis of gravity). The Chopper is best described as an “anti-anything” vehicle. Its powerful 35mm auto-cannons can take down most light ground vehicles with ease, and the large blades on the front can instantly destroy any light armored vehicle by ramming into it.” - Type-52 Infantry Support Vehicle (aka the Prowler): “The Brute Prowler is the designation of the Loyalist’s replacement for the Spectre from Halo 2, but this time, driven only by the Jiralhanae . The Prowler seems to hover on a gravity-assisted “sled”, as the bottom incorporates a pair of metal runners with an anti-gravity projector running between them. A Plasma Turret is located at the front of the vehicle, the driver sits in the rear of the vehicle, and two passengers can make use of the jump seats on either side. It’s aesthetically similar in its clear-cut, brutal nature to the Brute Chopper. The concept of its anti-gravitational propulsion is also similar to the Chopper’s, but it differs by utilizing two dual engines rotating in opposite directions.
The automatic Plasma Turret is capable of 360 degree movement, making it extremely dangerous, as it allows the vehicle to target enemies regardless of which way the Prowler is facing. This makes it very difficult to ambush Prowlers, as a competent gunner will constantly check all directions for enemy movement. Like most other Brute vehicles, it is an effective battering ram. While the vehicle cannot strafe, it is capable of tilting from side to side.” - Type-30 Light Excavation/Anti-Fortification Platform( aka the Locust): “The Locust is a smaller counterpart to the Scarab walker, possessing one rotating turret which hosts a single large plasma cannon. It does not share the Scarab’s spiked “feet”, though it has been seen using its legs to climb over obstacles in a similar manner to its larger cousin. Its central turret looks similar to a Banshee’s cockpit. It fires a straight purple-pink beam, which is a useful weapon against enemy ground and air targets. It has a very long and effective range and can hit enemy forces when even their longest-ranged units cannot strike back. The Locust also has a shield that wears down after heavy enemy fire. Once the shield is down, it stays down, until its shield regenerates. The vehicle is about as large as a Scorpion.” - Type-29 Close Support Fighter( aka the vampire): “Its primary weapon for aerial warfare was a Heavy Needle Cannon, a variation of typical Covenant “needle” technology which can shoot down enemy aircraft in seconds. Two side-mounted mid-grade Plasma Cannons are used to target ground forces and automatically track and fire on targets by way of an actuator plug, allowing the pilot to intermittently control them. However, its most unusual piece of equipment is a Stasis cannon, which renders a target machine immobile and their weapons inert. Enemy aircraft hit by the stasis cannon will crash into the ground.[1][2]” - Type-52 Anti-Aircraft Artillery( aka Anti Air Wraith): “The Type-52 Anti Aircraft Artillery is a variant of theCovenant Wraith assault gun, but it differs in its primary armament; while the standard Type-26 model is equipped with a Plasma Mortar, which is used mainly against slow-moving ground targets, the Type-52 model is equipped with two rapid fire, triple barreled Fuel Rod Cannons, as its main armament. These cannons fire special Class-3 Fuel Rods which have much greater range than the normal Class-2 rounds fired by other cannons and are capable of tracking an aircraft’s heat signature.[1] They are highly effective against nearby air targets as well as ground targets. The Type-52 shares the Type-26’s secondary plasma turret, a non-detachable stationary turret emplacement fixed at the midsection of the vehicle that is optionally manned for defense against medium to close range ground targets and to prevent boarding actions. It should be noted that the plasma bolts fired by the AA-Wraith can explode mid-air, creating a cloud of deadly plasma”

The Elephant would be easy to implement, it’s a matter of when people would use it. It could be used to devastating effect on maps such as Battle of Noctus. The Rhino would be devastating for support to capture bases, and it’s immobility is a balancing factor to it’s firepower. The Gizzly is the King of Ground encounters, you may think it’s redundant until you wipe enemy ground vehicles away and infantry.

If 343 wanted, they could easily implement these vehicles and it would be another source of profit. Make more dynamic maps and more variations to strategies and tactics.

I guess what I really mean about the Elephant is that it would be hard to use effectively. And the Rhino would just be ineffective because if someone boarded it, it would be done in seconds. The switch from lockdown to normal mode would take time, and with the added mobility options, the switch wouldn’t be fast enough to escape from approaching boarders.

Falcon. Falcon, falcon, falcon that’s all I got to say

I would really like the Revenant. The Anti-Aircraft Wraith would be an interesting addition, though.

The Elephant is more like mobile heavy cover. As for the Rhino? I do believe it has a heavy grenade launcher on it’s front as well.

Just added Falcon and Anti Air Wraith to collection.

Look forward to seeing everyone’s thoughts and opinions on these and if they should be added.

If possible, please tell as many people as possible since I would like to have as many people as possible comment upon this subject. The more the merrier!

I wouldnt mind seeing a warzone map variant which replace say the two outer armories/ garages with elephants. This would work well on a warzone variant of halo 3’s sandtrap. I can see both pros And cons to this but would love some feed back.

Not a bad idea and some of my Company members were talking about that. They also wanted to see a Mammoth, like jeez, as a middle control point for a map.

To me, I think there should be a mythic vehicle of the Sparrowhawk. It should have similar firepower to a Phaeton, boosting instead of teleport, and stronger armour than Phaeton/Banshee for level 9 REQs, that would be amazing

Honestly I really REALLY just want the revenant. The falcon and chopper would both be cool, but I’d wait another few months if it means getting the revenant back.

I like all of the ideas, a lot! But I feel like some of these vehicles would take away the feeling of playing a halo game.
