New Vehicle Experiences in Halo 4

With only 2 new vehicles having been confirmed and with one of them likely being UNSC, I am slightly concerned the vehicle sections in Halo 4. While I am sure they will be fun as in past games, I don’t want to be just fighting Covy vehicles like usual.

The Infantry combat looks like it will be new and fresh with the Prometheans so far i am not as sure about the vehicle sections. It seems like we will be lucky to see 1 Forerunner vehicle available for use.

However there is still hope. So far we have only seen 3 of the 7 confirmed new enemies(Crawlers, Watchers, Knights) and since teleporting AI likely don’t need vehicle transport, do you think we will see the return of Enforcer type enemies to make up for the lack of new usable vehicles?

How do you think 343 will freshen up the vehicle combat like they seem to be doing for the infantry combat?

I think this will be more infantry combat since the Prometheans are machines. I don’t think it will be too big of a problem.

I’m hoping to see some new Promethean vehicles to go along with the new enemy types. Curious to see what’s in store.

I hope we don’t get majority of the vehicles all at once early in the campaign.

H2 and H3 gradually added to the vehicle appearances until they became massive.

H2: OS (learner) -> Metropolis (intermediate) -> Quarantine Zone, Great Journey (epic)
H3: Tsavo Highway (learner-intermediate) -> The Storm (intermediate) -> The Ark, The Covenant (epic)

CE was a bit shorter but it didn’t go all out with vehicles until Two Betrayals. The trilogy was consistent with it’s vehicle appearances.

Reach introduced most of the vehicles with it’s second mission. The anticipation was lost because of this. Sword Base is my least favorite Reach level. Can you guess why?

You know what, I don’t want “vehicle sections.” I want vehicles to be more closely integrated into gameplay so that we have, more often, the option to use them but in combat scenarios which don’t demand their use. That way there’s more and better strategy involved (especially in co-op), more replayability (see. more and different -Yoink- to do), and a less arbitrary feel to certain vehicles like the tank or falcon which have only existed in so far as to make a tank or air section, if you catch my meaning.

This isn’t about having fixed vehicle sections. All I am talking about is adding new experiences. We all know how to deal with Ghosts, Wraiths, Banshees while using rockets, warthogs, Plasma Pistols, etc.

Prometheans are likely not to have vehicles of their own as they are Defense Constructs and we only have two new vehicles confirmed. So I am wondering where the new vehicle experiences come from since even if both vehicles were Forerunner that doesn’t leave many new vehicle experiences.

Surely there will be a new UNSC and Covenant vehicle. There always is a new vehicle for both teams. Personally I am hoping for a new tank that can take on the Scorpion, the Wraith is an amazing vehicle but it just gets crushed by Scorpions one-on-one (but I guess thats because its an enemy Campaign vehicle).

Well if the vehicle sections are more organic it should be Funner… So how would the Prometheans take out, a scorpion lets say.

Actually i believe i heard 4 vehicles have been confirmed, it was the ghost, warthog, mongoose, and falcon. (sorry if im wrong)

343 has stated that they have not released everything to the public yet. They said that there are many more weapons and vehicles to be seen, that includes UNSC, Covenant, and Promethean/Forerunner. I don’t think that we have anything to worry about or that they will disappoint us.

I just want a transport falcon and mongoose on every BTB map in Halo 4. Then I will be happy.

A promethian tank that could go toe to toe with the Scorpion would be great. Wraith is a great vehicle but severely outclassed by the Scorpion. I’d love to see one built like a wraith in that it can only fire forwards, with a turning radius faster than the Scorpion turret. It could carry a scaled up light rifle. 4sk on Tanks, 1 on infantry, other vehicles vary, with the ability to charge and release to 1 shot a tanks or anything else that requires more than one. It should have ROF slightly faster than the scorpion. And instead of a machinegun turret carry a 1shot EMP with a VERY long cool down that only works at extremely close ranges. Like enemies have to be right next to or on top of it, and it takes up to a minute to charge.

But I would also be okay with this.

As long as the Warthog isn’t made of paper again then it doesn’t really matter to me what the new vehicles will be.

Perhaps there’s a Promethean unit which is a vehicle??? Y’know…something so large it counts as a vehicle but we can’t drive it as it’s an actual Promethan.

You’re -Yoink!- right.

CE: had an optional tank (you could do it on foot, in a Ghost, in a Hog, or in a Banshee)

H2: had optional tanks

H3: The Ark featured it prominently (and introduced the concept of ‘tank beats everything’) but The Covenant had an optional tank (at Journey’s End)

Reach: The Package features it prominently

When was this confirmed?
