New update changed emblem color palettes?

Okay 343 apparently actually broke something this update. The GEEGEE Emblem Color Palette changed from Indigo to Cyan. Why 343? Indigo was my favorite color. Give me a break. I can’t have anything in this game.

I mean I use Bleached Bone and Will-O’-Wisp, so it matches, but… why though? Like, my pfp is also cyan and white, so I do like cyan… but whyyyy the random change? Just add a new color palette. Seriously, add more emblem colors. Don’t just change them randomly.

If you’re going to randomly add a cyan color palette, give Mint Blitz a cyan Skull King color palette.

Besides GEEGEE changing from Indigo to Cyan, has anyone else noticed any textures or colors changed from their setup?

They took away your option to pick your specific color and now they took the option they gave you away as well.

The Hell is wrong with them. They just seem to keep taking more and more away. Next Halo game they will monetize playlist at this rate, I mean what else is left for them to take away

Halo: the culling $1=one hour

Well they did it with Halo 2, 3 Reach, and 4 :man_shrugging:

they took it away so that they can re-sell that color set for that SPECIFIC emblem, and re-sell it again for the other emblems. oh yeah, and sell it AGAIN with a slight color difference
and people say this game isn’t overly monetized and limited because ‘free to play’ xD

Aspects are, but the debate still rages on whether or not heavy monetization of gameplay/cosmetics outweighs free acquisition of cosmetics/gameplay.

Is form over function preferable? Or favoring function to form?

I’m almost shocked 343 didn’t go the usual f2p route, where 99% of free to play games have an energy stamina system, you either have to wait to fill up to keep playing, or pay to refill it. I can’t name many f2p games off the top of my head without it. They probably didn’t have the guts to make Halo a “coin operated arcade machine” pay to play system

what are you talking about?

Probably DLC expansions? I know for sure Ricochet was a paid playlist in Halo 4 that I never got to play, since almost nobody else had it

Being locked out of some playlists for not purchasing the DLC

while true about DLC every game did that even COD and there were some games that charged a one time fee to access online play and we still have to pay for XBL/ gamepass.

but you should look up the Culling it went from a $15 game to F2P then to getting one free match per day and after that 1 freebie, you had to pay $1 per match

on a side note i guess we are not getting a community update tonight

Not sure what kind of update you were hoping for. All I could expect was a “we are listening and we are monitoring the situation” post as usual

DLC was definitely a prolonged monetization scheme, not denying that. Coincidentally through, early on I do believe that CoD actually had the more user friendly approach that didn’t lock players out of modes as compared to Halo that did.

As for the up front fee, is that in reference to the box price? Because there was also the time when EA was being terrible (as they usually are) and waged war on used games by charging a fee to access a used copy.

As for the XBL/Gamepass I think that warrants a discussion entirely on its own.

Oh man I do remember this. Definitely on the short list of gaming “no no’s”.

kinda there were several games back then that came with a code to unlock the full multiplayer so if bought it used u had to pay like $10-15 extra for full online access

They monetized BTB in those games? Like you paid for the game than had.to.pay extra to access the playlist?

I think they mean you had to pay for those games,. It he clearly missed the entire point of what we are saying and basically making fun of 343 for.

They are going to monetize access to updates next lol

I dunno about BTB specifically, but I remember being unable to play some modes because I didn’t own the DLC in 3.

It was the same case in 2 but I never had Halo 2 in its prone, as well as Reach and 4 which I had the means to own and play the DLC when it came out. At some point the Mythic Map pack was required to play Halo 3 multiplayer in its entirety as well.
