So back when 343 released a list of the gamemodes to be included in Halo Wars 2, this is the description we got for the mysterious “blitz”-
“Blitz is an all-new multiplayer mode that is an exciting addition to the Halo Wars series and offers a unique approach to RTS gameplay. Look for more details on this mode to be released in Fall 2016”
Recently, there have been a bunch of articles speculating on what this gamemode could be. Just look up Halo Wars 2 news and you’ll see them everywhere. Dan Ayoub said that it’s “a completely new way to play RTS” and “[It] can be played in a shorter time frame as well, like five, six, seven minutes.” Seeing as Fall is nearing, we should be getting some news on this soon. Any predictions? Concerns?
Personally, I’m quite a bit hyped for this. Halo Wars 2 is trying to break boundaries with this, and I can’t wait to see what they put forward.
My guess is that you start with a maximized economy/energy, and certain units start off being built - think Warzone Rampage (or whatever it was called)

Agree with this… not sure if it’s a new “unique” way to play an RTS as they are saying as I would assume some other game would have thought of this before? But something along this line, maybe with some unexpected twist still to come is what I’m thinking as well.

An interesting addition to what I said above: When you kill/destroy a unit, it instead falls under your control at like 1/2 hp or something
