New trailer????

When do u guys think there will be another trailer for halo 5 or halo xbox one???

VGAs in December would be nice, though I’m not holding my breath. We could well be waiting until the next E3…

I am hoping for a VGA trailer but if not I don’t expect a wait till next year’s E3.There will probably be something released in Early march like they did with Halo 4.

I agree on the VGAs being the earliest, but we won’t see actual gameplay till March at the earliest. That said, the game’s title hasn’t technically been revealed yet- we may get another CGI trailer to announce the game without Axis accidentally slipping the word out.

I’ll remain hopeful for a VGA announcement.

I’m pretty sure they would at the VGA’s, but I would rather have it at next E3 and have them slowly advertise it and not completely release to much information on the game like they did with Halo 4.

Here’s the answer to your question OP: When they’re damn good and ready.

VGAs is the wrong answer.

Any convention between now and when they’re damn good and ready is the wrong answer, if we’ve learned anything the last two years is to NOT, I repeat DO NOT expect a trailer to be released at any convention or on any set date.

Look at what happened back in the events leading up to E3 2012.

Everyone was hard set to expect a trailer release for 2011 VGAs, even heard rumors after rumors, even thought some false information to be true, VGAs came and gone, the community raged because of everyone expected a trailer release.

The tech convention at the beginning of 2012, everyone expected a Halo 4 trailer because 343i was there. it came, and went, NOTHING, thus community raged.

1/17, people raged because there was no trailer.

Are you getting a theme here?

Don’t expect any trailer at any given time, when 343i is damn good and ready to show off a trailer, they will.

I am hoping for a trailer at the VGA’s maybe even at TGS’s if were Lucky. I dont expect for the to do the dame route they did with Halo 4 when it comes to trailers, because 343i releases trailers when they were ready to release them. 343i now has a lot more membres and the have been working on Halo 5 longer than they have been working on Halo 4, so they should have the Game ready faster, meaning well see trailers faster. Also, the community Is really hoping for a beta, so if 343i Is going to release one, There going to have to show off a trailer sometime soon.

Dude I wouldn’t wait for a trailer. I waited for a trailer all last year for Halo 4 and the only trailer they released after the E3 2011 one was the gameplay Launch trailer the month of launch!

Very true, but there is one major difference between Halo Xbox One and Halo 4- the game wasn’t announced yet. What we saw at E3 was a promise for the Halo experience to come for the Xbox One, not an announcement for any particular game. The fact that they held on to the name too, when it is extremely likely this is just Halo 5 and definitely the apropriate sequel to 4 only makes me feel more hopeful that they are yet to officially reveal the game and its name- this means they don’t have to be “good and ready” because they can just give us another CGI trailer or at least some form of info (we got that concept art slideshow at Halofest). There may be another step between now and the game’s in-engine gameplay reveal.

I will give you that, BUT I will say this, I much rather find out they released a trailer at the VGAs and not expect it, than expect it, and a trailer not to be released, better surprise, no disappointment if it doesn’t happen.

That’s what I do: prepare for the worst, hope for the best.

The two biggest conventions outside of E3 (Pax Prime and Gamescom) have just finished up and nothing for Halo Xbox One was preset at either event. The VGAs are nothing more than a stupid popluarity contest, so no trailer there. Most likely candidate will be Pax East next march

Or a more logical candidate would be E3 2014. People expect too much too soon. Just saying, not offending.

We got news on Halo 4 early in March. There’s no reason to believe we won’t see at least small tidbits of info before E3, especially since that’s going to be a big demo and not just a trailer or BTS video.

Someone’s forgetting the concept art trailer at PAX 2011 and E3 2012 Presentation.

well id like to see something like the first look vidoc for halo4 at a microsoft expo in early 2014

Like people are saying, I think it will be at:
VGAs
Private Microsoft Press Conference or
E3

I really dont want them to pull a Halo 4 in terms of marketing and trailers.

By waiting so long, 343i gave people the time to have a mindshare that made them skeptical to whether or not 343i would pull for a Halo 3-like game or a Reach-like game.

In March, we learned that Sprint was default, there were signs that AA’s were returning and pretty much the start of the arguments of ‘this isnt Halo 4, it’s Reach 2!’

Without bringing out a public beta, I believe many things passed inspection (unbalanced weapons, unbalanced maps, exploits and glitches for example.) And the only people who got to play were those who were lucky enough (including me when I went to the Rooster Teeth Expo last year) to go to specific locations and conventions.

And then we had the horrible marketing for preorder bonuses, a lackluster LE, and a season pass for maps no one plays. I was so excited, but if I was part of 343i, I would have done things differently. But atleast 343i has admitted to their mistakes and they can only learn from it.

But what I wished they’d do between this year and next year is this:

  1. Reveal the title (after that AXIS blunder, they might as well, right? I was actually surprised they didn’t just reveal it during the championship finals.) I think they should do this before November. Give people some new tidbits to feel a bit more invested into buying an Xbox One. (There will of course be people like me who are excited for other games, like Dead Rising 3.)

  2. During the VGA, announce a beta. What Halo 4 lacked more than Reach and Halo 3 was a beta, and I honestly believe the vanilla game proves it. It would be amazing if they announced it alongside some actual gameplay, but since they’re so early in development with new hardware, it’s undertsanble if they didnt. But even a CGI trailer would suffice, I would love to know the reason behind him wearing that cloak, outside of Frankie’s vague statement that he’s hiding from someone.

  3. By March, we should atleast see some of the first multiplayer experience. Give people a proper mindshare how the game will play this time.

  4. Between April-August we should have the beta.

  5. Between the beta and release, they should go full force into Halo 5 advertisements, along with maybe airing the Halo live action series.

5.5. For the love of Halo…Don’t separate dozens of content between various retailers again.

5.75. Bring back a true legendary edition for us Halo enthusiasts, and actually put worthwhile content into the LE, if the LE really is just a Season pass bundle again that comes with a free video, make the video a physical disk. The Xbox One has a blu-ray drive now, use it.

And secondly, if it comes with a season pass, actually make the maps into the full experience. I have all the DLC but the only maps I play are Ragnarok, Ragnarok, Ragnarok, Ragnarok, Exile, Ragnarok, Ragnarok, Settler, Raganarok. I can undertsand the argument that this is because I should just play the DLC playlists, but the populations is so lacking and the game types are so varied, why bother? If Call of Duty and Gears of War 3 can properly introduce new maps into the standard playlists, why cant Halo?

  1. Release game
  2. ???
  3. Profit
