Hey all,
Finally caved and bought an XBox. Sick of missing out on Halo games.
I just bought the standard 4GB version. I didn’t plan on doing anything intensive on it - basically, I’ll play all the Halo games and that’s about it. I’m still a PC gamer through-and-through (hell, I’m buying a Xim Edge to play Halo 4 with my mouse and keyboard).
Now, I’ve never used an Xbox before, so what’s the deal with hard drives? Do I need to buy an extra hard drive to install Halo on? 4GB will not be enough (by a long shot). It’s looking like I may need to buy a data stick for each Halo game or two. But then again I don’t know what I’m talking about.
Basically, can someone give me the down-low on how this works? Just lay it out for me, plain, sweet, and simple?
Thanks in advance.
You need to buy a 360 branded hard drive or a 8-16gb thumbdrive to install Halo on.
I believe you need a hard drive with 8GB of space available to install the mp. You can also get a flashdrive up to 32gb, which is what i did because it is way cheaper then a xbox hard drive. I bought a 32gb flash drive for $22.00.

Xbox will only recognize 16gb. So a 32gb is just a wast of money.
if you still have your old hard drive you can take it apart and put it in your new xbox
Hmm, well my xbox saids 28gb available so idk.
Okay, so I’ll buy a 16GB flash drive (any flash drive will do?) to install Halo 4 on. Sounds like Halo 4 will pretty much take up that whole flash drive (what with DLC later on and so forth). Do I just plug it into the USB port in the front then? And then the XBox formats it, and it’s good to go?

The latest dashboard update increased it to 32gb. Too lazy to google it for you.
Thanks for the replies. I fully understand now.
