New to the series, lore questions

So Im going in Chronological order for the games. On CE now, and Ive seen two or so CGIs on Guilty Spark and another on a person he kept refering to as construct

Im at a loss with this as Im not sure how any dialouge is tied in

What I am understanding is Guilty spark is the Forerunner AI and it guards installing 04 Halo. Not sure what they were created off of? Forerunner intelligence? Clone copys of themselves in AI?

Whos this construct. Not sure if this will all come together later on. I just finished up Truth and Reconciliation ship lvl

Trying to wiki all this, if anyone can eli5 on the inner workings of Halo id appreciate. Trying to learn as much as I can!

The little ‘CGI’ sections you are worrying about are called terminals, it’s a collectable which doesn’t directly link into the main story of CE. They were added in the 10 year anniversary version of Halo CE which was just before Halo 4 release, so naturally they are all about things relating to Halo 4. The Terminals do not make sense in the context of Halo CE.
Terminals also appear in Halo 2, similarly they hyped up Halo 5’s release.

Don’t worry about Terminals (unless you like collectables), just stick to the main game. All you really need to know is that 343 Guilty Spark (aka the Monitor) is a Forerunner AI in charge of protecting the Halo.
If you do want a little bit of an extra story which actually makes sense with CE, you can pick up the novel ‘Halo The Fall of Reach’. It’s a prequel which explains how exactly the Pillar of Autumn got there.

Yup, there is an audiobook available. At least on Audible.

Oh boy…your in way over your head trying to dabble your toes in these waters lol. The halo lore is MASSIVE. You would have to read the forerunner trilogy at least to get a better understanding of what is going on here. If not, “Halo Canon” on youtube is where I get my lore information when I forget little details about what’s going on in the Halo universe lol.

I believe every Halo book has an audiobook version on Audible

As Sir Cool One mentioned, those CGI extras were released for the 10th anniversary leading up to Halo 4’s release so they use a lot of terminology and imagery that unfortunately doesn’t make a lot of sense with the context of later instalments.

Guilty Spark is basically an AI and the caretaker of Halo ‘Installation 04’, but he’s been alone there for some time.
“Construct” is what Guilty Spark calls any other non-Forerunner AI and the one you’ve seen is presumed to be the very basic Covenant AI from aboard the Truth and Reconciliation.

If you’re interested in further reading, ‘The Fall of Reach’ is a great place to start since it leads directly up to Halo CE and has Master Chief’s origin story. ‘Contact Harvest’ is about the beginning of the war with the Covenant and follows Sergeant Johnson, and I’ll always recommend the Forerunner trilogy by Greg Bear; ‘Cryptum’, ‘Primordium’, and ‘Silentium’, they’re really good books and are about the Forerunners in the distant past if you’re interested in them (and they also relate to Halo 4). There are lots more depending on your tastes and all of the Halo books (from what I can tell) are also available as audiobooks.

Just about every part of the Halo universe has been expanded upon in some way or another (there are comic books too) so there’s something for just about anyone.

If you’re big into reading, there are plenty of novels, graphic, novels and comics that you can take a look at and learn about the expanded universe (EU if you wanna be fancy), you’ll probably find them at a Chapters book store, or whatever big bookstore is nearest to you

pretty much this ^

I’m not sure that they ever do go very far into Guilty Spark’s makings and background, not in-game anyways. He’s something that’s just sort of there. Maybe that’s good in a way, kind of preserves the mystery of the Forerunner. That’s my thoughts anyway, he’s always just been the ‘Forge Ball’ to me.

Spark’s background is covered in the Halo CEA terminals. Further background is highlighted in the novels. It’s a bit of a shame you think of Spark in this way, he’s a major character of the series alongside Chief, Cortana and Thel.

Yeah - as Sir Cool One said, the terminals don’t make entirely sense in the context of CE, they’re there to provide backstory on Spark and to open up players to the lore. If you’ve only completed Truth and Reconciliation, then chances are you haven’t met Spark in person yet; so there’s no need to worry if you’re a bit confused. The terminals start to fit in after you begin unraveling the mysteries of the Halo in the missions.

I’m just now getting into the lore of Halo. So these posts are actually interesting to me now.
