New to the Halo books, help.

Hi there.

I haven’t read any Halo books but lately I’ve been thinking about starting to read one. I’ve been interested in what happens after Halo 3 and in the Forerunners but I don’t know where to start.

I’ve been looking at Halo Glasslands and Halo Cryptum. Where should i start? What do you guys think about the books?

I appreciate all the help I can get.

I’ve not read the recent books either, but from what I gather, those two series work like this:

Glasslands - Thursday War:

Aftermath of the Human / Covenant War, including events post Halo 3 and building up to Halo 4

Cryptum - Primordium - Silentium:

Prequel to the entire Halo universe as we know it. Info on the Ancient Humans, the Forerunner Flood War, and the events surrounding the firing of the Halo Array.

I would start with Glasslands though it isn’t too good but it directly follows Halo 3. Cryptum is like way before the story but does include some key elements in Halo 4. First strike is my personal favorite but that’s before the first halo.

Glasslands and Cryptum are the latest, and have the most to do with Halo 4.

But in all honesty, The Fall of Reach is my, and most people’s favorites. Eric Nylund did a great job.

So if you’re looking exclusively for Halo 4 related stuff, Glasslands and Primordium. If you want the prime experience, you should go with the order of publication. The Fall of Reach would be the first, and in my opinion, one of the best.

If you’re interested in Glasslands, don’t start with it. Read Ghosts of Onyx first, then Glasslands.

Actually it isn’t, it’s a bridge between Halo CE and Halo 2.

You HAVE to start with The Fall of Reach, then The Flood, etc. It covers alot of important characters and background info.

Just H3:/ Thursday War (Release date 10-2-12) is a “Prequel” to H4. but for fillers i segest the Eric Nylund Seires they take place bettween n befor the games

I cant spell ik
