new to HW2 and wondering what leader to use?

My play style in Starcraft is usually to get a quick-ish timing push to harass and disorient the other player and expand behind it. so Im looking to see what leader would have a decent/cheap early game unit that can pump out an early mobile force that can cause some havoc in the early game but then be able to follow up with a bigger force mid game if that makes sense.

I dont really like to all in early game or turtle up for late game.

I dont know if that is enough of a description of what im looking for but I would love any suggestions!

thanks!

UNSC has marines/hell bringers for early base harass and Jack rabbits for early infantry harass while they try to take power nodes and resources. Banished have choppers that can harass both infantry and bases, add some engineers to it and it’ll make enemy players panic real quick. They also have jet pack brutes for early base harass. Hope this helps.

Hey mate im from starcraft as well. Raynors raiders all day. But i would say going for the two baseline leaders Cutter and Atriox would do you good. Shipmaster and Isabel if you feel good. Other than that just test the waters and make sure you build turrets and do good scouting like in star craft to keep yourself better protected. Have fun

I’d suggest Atriox or Colony. Colony is a bit slower on the eco than Atriox, but definitely can keep his units alive.

If you’re going for all out speed and harass, Cutter or Shipmaster should be your choice.

Cutter is super solid with his faster infantry leader power. Feel free to add me on xbox one, I’d be happy to show off a few strats. Glad to see people are still picking up this game!

First of all, welcome to halo wars 2!

I love me some StarCraft as well. There will be some obvious differences, but for your play style, Cutter is probably the best UNSC leader that would compliment you. Just don’t try to kite with infantry like they do in SC,

You’ve got a potential of three leaders. For the banished you’ve got shipmaster who would be perfect early game and is still strong mid game as well. Then you have Decimas who is good with hard hitting rushes but lacks shipmasters stealth and is more hard hitting. On the UNSC side you’ve got Kinsano who is similar to Decimas but has some nasty offensive powers. Those are the three id recommend. Try them out and see which one you prefer though different leaders do better in some game modes than others.

If you want a leader with a good early game than Decimus is a good choice. He is arguably the best leader at rushes, but it sounds like Atriox and Cutter are 2 leaders you would like. Personally I like Atriox better because he has maybe the most options out of all the leaders on how to play him. He can rush, he can turtle, and everything in between. He also has the cheapest bases in the game (Besides Johnson in the late game) which allows him to get map control fast and early. Also i find his late game to be way better than cutters with Eradication and Invulnerability.
