Very new only level 8 new some help getting to grips with req packs and what i should sell and keep, thanks
Start with bronze until you get all of the common REQs then move onto silver until you get all of the uncommon and rare REQs then finally move onto gold until you get the all of the ultra rare and legendary REQs.
Do silver since gold is too expensive and bronze only has a chance to give you something permanent
Most people will say start with Silver to until most of the common-rare cards are unlocked then start opening gold. I personally say start with bronze to knock out the commons since in the long run it will be cheaper than getting them all through silver and it also gives you a large amount of rp and exp boosts a well. Then move on to silver and follow that path.
I opened a couple of bronzes, then just went to silver. I would rather spend 5,000 rp than get useless mongooses and scout warthogs. Btw, what is a scout warthog good for?
Unless you’re playing War Zone it doesn’t matter. I was SR 45 before I cashed in any Req points. I don’t play War Zone so it did nothing for me.
start with bronze until you have most commendations, then go to silvers, then spam gold.
Bronze first. It has around a 50% chance of unlocking a permanent, and it costs 1/4th the price of a silver pack. You do the math. Bronze > Silver > Gold
go for the bronze ones to start, then the silver. you can get twice as many REQs from 2 silvers (5000 REQ points each) which is equal to one gold (10000 REQ points Each). Silver gives from common to rare, while Gold gives from Uncommon to Legendary. Getting the silvers will reduce the chances of getting common items from gold packs, and after you feel like you reduced the pool enough for a better chance of REQs, then buy the gold packs and enjoy your new HIGH LEVEL REQS… (This may take a while to lower the pool, especially if you’re a casual player

Is there any hard data on this with a big sample size?

only buy gold packs, if you want unlocks you will rarely if at all from silver and lower. It is a lot of req points but just play warzone a few times and you should have enough in no time
hope this helped ^~^

No hard data, but it’s the general consensus the Halo community (mainly r/Halo) has reached. It seems about right from my experience. Actually just finished collecting all my common REQs yesterday thanks to the bronze method.
Also OP, if you want to keep track of all your REQ progress, use this helpful spreadsheet.

There was a post a while ago where someone was collecting data to try and figure it out. From memory the samples seemed to ranged from 60% to 90%, and averaged out at 80%. 50% is by far the lowest average I have heard of. My personal experience is about 80% although it did seem to drop when I got to the last 10 commons needed, so I took that as a sign to move to silvers.
Thanks for the tips everyone, should i keep everything? Like literally everything… Im a noob ik

No. Sell all the things you aren’t gonna use.

I recommend keeping a few of everything until you decide what you like and don’t like. Then proceed from there.
Using myself as an example, I love the scorpion tanks and shotguns so I keep almost every single one of those reqs I get but on the other side I really don’t like Covenant weapons or the abilities such as speed boost and active camo so I generally sell most if not all of those. Everything else I keep about 5-7 of depending on how often I use it.
Buy bronze from 1-20, silver from 20-40, gold 40+. I did something like that.
And sell whatever you wouldnt use in warzone. You will only be able to sell weapons and vehicles, so you dont have to worry about selling something by mistake. Leave about 5-10 of each req you will use.

Step 1. Sell halo 5
step 2. Buy a game that people are actually playing

If you aren’t going to be serious and give advice related to the topic get out of here. The OP didn’t say anything about getting the game. He wants suggestions on how to use parts of it.
