I am fairly new to Halo considering some have been playing since 2001, the first Halo game I played was Halo 4 on Xbox360 back in 2013. From there I played Halo 3, Reach, Halo:CE (anniversary) then Halo 2, as well as ODST. I played them all out of order so when the Master Chief Collection came out I did a full run through of every Halo game and played them all in order this time, Halo is an amazing franchise and as awesome as the multiplayer is, for me its the lore, story, and cool characters that I really love. Every game to me is a 10/10, Halo 4 will probably always be favorite though since that is what brought me to Halo in the first place. I joined these forums today because I have seen some people just downgrade Halo 5 so bad and I feel I need to share my point if view. (SPOILERS AHEAD)

The Story/Campaign/Gameplay-I loved the Campaign mode, I was very engaged and thought they played it out well, the actual gameplay is so fun and addicting.
-I love the new spartan movements it feels like your even more of a super soldier. Makes past Halo games make Chief feel like a heavy tank, sprint, thruster packs, and every weapon having a look down sight is all welcomed to me. I will say again SPRINT is awesome, I know some are upset about Sprint but how does it make any sense that a super soldier like Chief can’t run?! Why sprint upsets anyone I do not understand. These controls and features make the Campaign that much better.
-The levels are awesome, (SPOILER) ----> running down the Guardian with Locke is so cool. All the Elite Home World levels are cool as well, walking through ancient ruins and tombs can not get enough of. The mission where Blue Team land on Genesis for the first time is now one of my all time favorite missions. Warden Eternal battles were fun and challenging and is more of what the Chief/Didact battle should have been.
-Story points (MAJOR SPOILERS}-----> such as the Locke/Chief fight, Cortana’s betrayal, Halseys rescue, Arbiters battle with the Covenant, and Wardens Eternals play in defending Cortana were all very riveting. Having Chief back with Blue team is really cool to see.
-The characters were awesome, loved seeing Blue Team and there Spartan Gear. Agent Locke is someone I think can be part of HALOS future as well as the rest of OSIRIS, however I think we can all agree Locke can not replace Chief any way. Locke is awesome but Chief is a legend and a mythic demigod like human.
-easter eggs I have found so far are great…the Grunt ones talking gave me a laugh.
-Things I did not like
-Like I said I loved the characters but they were not well brought out, especially to fans who have never read any other canon.
-**NO SPLITSCREEN…**really??? Coop online mode is great IF you can find someone to play with.
-Not enough Chief :[…(but still played out well being Locke hunting him down, Chiefs absence and not being him fit into the story)
The Multiplayer
-A lot of good things to say, every mode is so much fun. Warzone is fun and intense, the REQs system I think works well, in game earnings throw out the notion that you have to “buy to win” if you’re good you can earn points quickly as well as hijack others vehicles of players who did spend actual currency on the game.
-Arena mode with the classic Slayer game modes and Team Slayer are awesome as well, I love the new maps and pace of the gameplay.
-the controls and spartan movements are perfect. I have heard about a bad deadzone? I will not say its not true however I do much better in Halo 5 online than any other past games. I actually get more kills.
-I will admit though I am not very good online (my KDA is 0.89) I die more than I kill, however I still enjoy the online very much. Thats how good Online is to me that even when I am dying I still want to keep playing.
-Everything really about the multiplayer is great just need more maps and the lobby can be improved to, having map votes would be great to have as well.
FORGE
- Is coming soon and will be better than ever.Overall Halo 5… to me is incredible. I know everyone is entitled to their opinion but I really can’t see anyone not liking it but thats just me. I am really looking forward to Halo 6 and what is next for Locke, Chief, Cortana and the Arbiter. I think 343 did a great job with this game and THE MCC as well, if you don’t like Halo 5 then I would say go play your old Halos, last I checked The MCC online services were working flawlessly. Halo is still the best FPS game out there and with the story and characters it also in one of the best all around games out there and has been for the past 15 years and will continue to be in the future. I have confidence in 343. Before Halo all I played was cod mostly, and I will say I still do like Call of Duty but it is nothing on the level that Halo is, Not even remotely close anymore. People who say Halo is becoming like Call of Duty … …ok if you say so. -_-
