Yes this might sound a little dumb but Microsoft has regiserted Domains Halo 7, 8, and 9. Could this mean that the Reclaimer Trilogy will be us Humans reclaiming our spot back in the universe fighting the Forerunners. And then this new trilogy will have us join with the Forerunners to fight the Precursors? They are Tier 0 and there is no way to fight them alone. What do you think?
> Companies register trademarks all the time and never use them.
Which is true but dont you think it will be tough to establish the Precurors as enemies for Halo 5 and 6 and would need more spotlight then 2 games? We know that most of Halo 4 will be fighting Forerunners but we will see…

I don’t know, Cobra. 343 Industries has stated several times they are planning the next 20 years of Halo. If they delay the Precursors another 10 years, I give up. I won’t be gaming like this when I’m 30.

Why do people keep saying that? Where was 20 ever said by 343i? The only thing I can think of is this translated dutch website which mentioned 20 but there is no direct quote from anyone from 343i. All it says is “The producers told us 20.” That’s not conclusive at all.
We do however have this Game Informer video where we hear the words “the next 10 years” actually come out of Frank O’Conner’s mouth and he even says it’s pretty vague but they have ideas of what may or may not happen next.
So who would you rather believe? Frank O’Conner or a dutch website with an offhand comment?
> Why do people keep saying that? Where was 20 ever said by 343i?
I will find my source. It was stated in one of the very early vidocs/making of videos. I did not just pull that number out of nowhere, and neither did the other people you have observed.
7,8,AND 9!!! WTF I don’t think I’m going to have time after Halo 4. my life is pretty planned out right now…
I Honestly hope they don’t make a Halo 7,8,9. I got tired of Pokemon because it was the same thing everygame. Eventually I think that they might run out of ideas and it will jsut be a repeat which is why 7,8,9 I think will be bad. 10 years totaling to a life of 20 years. I think that is good. 30 years? I think its going to become stale and boring. Well I know I wont be gaming once I’m 30+ Sorry 343, you tried but I honestly think 6 might be the last game I play. If I’m lucky. Videogames are pretty boring to me now, I think I might have outgrown them or soemthing. Haven’t played xbox or my pc for like a month now…

Don’t worry about it I found one, however it’s still inconclusive. The exact quote is,
“Halo Can, and ideally will, last 20 more years.”
He says it can last 20 years and says it ideally will but that’s not conclusive. Ideally means “in theory or principle” so he’s saying he believes it could successfully last 20 years. It’s also of note that he said that in April 2012 but the 10 year video was in May 2012 so the 10 year thing is more “up to date” for lack of a better term. He said they have 10 years mapped out and vaguely mapped out at that so this whole “gonna introduce the Precursors in the next trilogy after Halo 6” is extreme speculation which has no solid backing whatsoever.
I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a Halo 9 or something like that and as long as they still have fresh ideas I would still welcome a new Halo. I just disagree with the assumption that a third trilogy is already planned and will feature the Precursors because that’s not what they said. If Halo is to successfully pull of another trilogy then I believe they should pull a “Star Trek” and go forward a hundred or so years to show how the Galaxy has evolved.
Imagine a Mass Effect style universe where Humans, Elites, Grunts, Jackals and so on are all living around each other. Maybe not in perfect harmony but if you visit a space station you could meet Jackal and Grunt traders, maybe Brute mercenaries or whatever. I think that would be pretty sweet.

You know I do not believe they will wait to introduce the Precursors. I believe the mystery species from CEA Terminal 5 will play a huge role in this trilogy, and I believe we may be seeing them very soon.
While the Covenant are in Halo 4, I do not consider them a real enemy type. As far as I am concerned, the Prometheans are the only significant enemy type. If Halo 4 follows a similar enemy progression to Halo CE, we are still waiting on our new “Flood”.
Personally, I hope they continue Bungie’s trend and do some games outside of their planned story arc. I’d like to see a counterpart to Halo 3: ODST where maybe it’s all Covenant running around, fighting against Brutes or whatever (pre/post Human/Covenant War, doesn’t matter). I’d like another RTS like Halo Wars, maybe based on the original Forerunner/Flood War.
If they’re going to continue to expand the universe, I’d hope they do it in a playable format. Books are fun to read, but I want to shoot things, and it doesn’t always have to be Master Chief pulling the trigger.

This made my day. I will probably still be gaming way into my future just not as much now because I’ll hopefully have a job and more responsibilities. If it lasts 20 more years then that’s when I’m 37 and if they can even make the franchise last that long I will surprised.

By the time Halo 9 comes out, your going to be able to move around your room, hold up holographic weapons, and play that way. You will become the spartan. You will be fully immersed in the game hahha
Oh and youll also have your on little AI to go with you…
