New suit, plus the ship looks different

I wish I could sleep, and wake up with jet packs, and a new suit of armor. >_>

Also, the ship that chief was on floating in space changed completely.

I hope 343 has a way to make this make sense…

You need to consider that in every game chief’s armour has gone through changes. Many of these changes will be purely cosmetic and design choices. They need no explanation beyond that. That’s how it always has been.

This was covered last year.
(Just to re-assure you.)

To start: welcome to waypoint.

Now, a lot of things are changing with Halo 4, and most of that is due to a new artistic interpretation of the universe. So far, the Forward Unto Dawn is part of this new artistic approach.

Personally, I had hoped 343 would have just said it was a new artistic approach in regards to everything, but instead, they came up with a weak reason for the Chief’s new look. Apparently, Mjolnir Mk. VI and up now features nanobots that can upgrade the suit when the user is in cryo.

Yeah change is cool, but HOW could he change when he’s in half a ship floating in space.

Plus how could this ship change shape, while floating in space?

-_-’

You’re not understanding dude.

HOW like to make it realistically understandable that a change was made, not WHAT the changes were or WHY.

HOW HOW HOW.

For the most part, the changes are just artistic in nature, 343’s new interpretation of the material. For the most part, there is no in-universe reason for the new look.

However, the Chief’s new look is due to nano-bots upgrading his suit. So, that’s a thing now…

There we go, I was just about to reply to your post above.

Do you mind linking me to confirmed word on this. This new idea of nano-bots makes sense, and I’d be “okay” with it, but I just wanna see someone confirm this is the reason.

I’d hardly consider the nano-bots thing new, but I heard that was already debunked a while back. (don’t quote me on that, though)

Again, not sure why you need a reason other than cosmetic and design choices. Did you complain when Master Chief had different hand plates in Halo 3?

So wait, you sleep in armour?

Here.

Personally, I’m very disappointed with the poor explanation. It’s completely out of nowhere, and I’d be much more okay with a simple “we had a new artistic view of Halo”.

Hand plate change < Jet packs.

Thank you dude, you really were a big help. I’ma give you a thanks.

But I’m just gonna let you know that you’ve gained my respect. If I’m lurking in the forums, and I see you’ve posted with some cool info. I’m gonna more than likely believe it over the average Joes.

Well done sir.

He always had thruster packs

> So wait, you sleep in armour?

MC went into cryo while wearing the armor. I am sure it is comfortable. He also woke up with thruster packs and a new look.

He always had thrusters for zero G combat.

i’m pretty sure those jetpacks are thruster packs for 0 gravity movement.

they’ve always been there im pretty sure.

Hmmm… not really. Chief got new Mjolnir in Halo 2, and he had minor aesthetic changes on his gauntlets for Halo 3. Nothing major at all.

The only major visual changes to the Chief have been made be 343i for Halo CEA and Halo 4. Bungie actually kept it under very tight control.

Well I know its not exactly major, but between Halo 2 and 3 Chiefs armour changed to a completely different shade of green.
