the 2 blurred weapons on the top are storm rifles, if you compare them to the standard one you can tell. if you look at the end of the barrel hanging off of the card you can tell immediately its a storm rifle
I think they should add the plasma rifle, it was much cooler

Plasma Rifle can be like an Assault Rifle and Storm Rifle can be like an SMG.

Other way around I think. The Plasma Rifle is built a bit more like the SMG.
I wouldn’t mind some variation on the Brute Plasma Rifle from Halo 2, even though that was kind of a lazy reskin on Bungie’s part. Buffed damage but nerfed heat absorption when compared to the Storm Rifle

The Storm Rifle sucks? It kills in like, 3 seconds.
Either way, it ‘sucking’ isn’t a reason to add an old weapon back. Not every piece of technology is going to magically be the best and most powerful device in the world.

It’s TTK is .98-1.23 depending on the distance in the Red Reticle Range.
About you second sentence. The Storm Rifle is confirmed to be the successor to the Plasma Rifle from 2555 onward. Thought why the Halo 2 Battle Rifle is here despite being slightly less powerful than the Halo 5 BR is nothing short of fan service.

Indeed. Fan-Service in-game, and in-lore(As it specifically mentions veterans). But in either case. The weapons in the simulators are programmed in the event Spartans might have to encounter them in the field. Which so far, is highly unlikely.
