New Star Wars Canon vs. Halo Canon

I know there’s been a debate on here regarding Star Wars vs Halo, but my question specifically regards the NEW Star Wars Canon.
Since Disney acquired the rights to Star Wars, it has rebranded every* prior Star Wars novle, comic etc. as ‘Star Wars: Legends’ & non-canon. (*Excluding the films and Clone Wars series, link below). Since that, everything else - all the new movies, books, comics, e.g. - have become the new canon universe for Star Wars.
I’m sure most of you know all of this. So my question is, what do you think is bigger? The NEW Star Wars Canon, or the Halo Canon? Star Wars canon Wikipedia - Scroll down to Canon works for the list of 20/30 (or so) works in the new canon.
I guess this raises other questions, too.

  • Can Halo realistically compete against Star Wars? - Is it time for a Halo movie, or the yoinking TV series to begin production? - Should Halo branch out to start reaching a mass market, or remain an Xbox niche?Personally, I love both Halo and Star Wars, but I’d love Halo to really fulfil it’s potential and become as big as it can.
What are your thoughts? (And on a side note, I’m happy to be back in the Halo forums, it’s nice to see the community no longer as toxic as it was).

As a fan of both series and someone spectacularly sour about how Disney simply swept away almost 30 years of expanded lore…I say lets branch Halo out and fill that gap.

My friend who is the head of my Spartan Company is a huge Star Wars fan and has a mental breakdown when Disney broke the news. Halo has a chance to fill the space.

I would love a halo movie, but it would be kind of hard to make one with all this preexisting lore. I’m not saying they should throw all the lore out the window but if they where to make a halo movie maybe they should place it in a alternate continuity. Think of it the way the transformers movies and TV shows are they are in different continuity’s so one doesn’t have to worry about interfering with the other.
