I have heard some pretty off the wall answers from close gamer friends but I look online to try and do some research on it but cant find any answers to my questions. Is there any more specializations coming after 130 or for the ones who are already at SR130 just out of luck and have nothing to look forward to? Its pretty lame that the highest rank in the game is given to you just for the time you put in the game and not earned by your performance in matchmaking matches. So your halo 4 career is ended after youve played X amount of matches instead of ending after youve better your own personal skill. It is almost like 343 wanted to give you a time limit on their game.
Once I hit 130, i stopped playing the game…its so boring afterwards…nothing to play for unless your hellbent on getting the stance’s.
Changing your gamertag isnt really worth it either…CSR in april will help a little bit I have a bad taste in my mouth that its not going to be displayed in game. EPIC Fail on what could of been a game played until H5 comes out.
Yes there will be more because. 343 are give massive credits for challenges to allow players to reach 130.343 wants people to finish because then the player will feel they should buy the dlc pack so that he can get the rest of specializations. Besides 130 is a weird number to end. But it pisses me of because they create a full game, take out half then sell you the half and then other half later dlc and crap should come with the game. Anyways its probably only a head start for dlc owners for the new specialization in time every body get. No source for info just putting together in mind. I bought dlc anyways cause halo rules. Also when game came out they said specialization will keep gamer going long after release and that is why they didnt take playong by skill because people love to acheive things. I know I do. I suggest u save your commendation so you can use xp bonuses for later.
It seems to me that after all the hard work that went into actually gutting Big Team Objective, Assault, 1-Flag, Multi-Team and everything else that is still missing- The game was simply designed to die an early death.
Maybe it’s just a new era of building games for the ADD generation.
Unless they announce otherwise - and soon - the game is simply over at SR130.
Prognosis: Inevitable early death due to poor planning and dedicated minimized/scaled back design.
The only hope is this Title Update.
That being said, they are tight-lipped about it. Either they have been working hard at delivering on everything the community has asked for these last few hard months… or… they’ll do nothing to restore the lost gametypes and carry on with a few simple tweaks. I’m more concerned about the restoration of lost standard Halo gametypes, but heck- if we do get them, it’s still over at 130 if nothing is done soon.
They should just make it so once you reach 130 you can opt to start over on a new skill-based ranking system (similar to prestige in COD) and only play people who have reached this new ranking system
Halo 3 in theory never maxed out. Why not just let it go and don’t worry about specialisations?
I’m at 130 and should probably be on my way to 150 by now. But I will not stop playing. However, I agree, it was terribly shortsighted to release a halo game where the credits keep piling up but nothing is earned. At least in Reach you had the Inheritor rank that freaky Pilot helmet.
About the 20th topic I have seen about needing more ranks.
I really hope they have plans to add alot more ranks and very soon. SR130 is way too easy to get. I was actually unhappy when I got it as I was like this is it…really. I was very happy to get Inheritor in Reach even though it wasnt skill based it took ages to do especially if you mainly played matchmaking.
There shouldnt be a cap at all. Let people keep going. Alot more people will kep playing the game just for that.
I had 130 in less than a month after release, so yeah not hard to get to at all. There is suspicion that there is 2 more specializations because of the mission weapon skins for the Light Rifle(LE console buyers got one but that don’t count) and the Storm Rifle.Though with no info regarding it i cannot be even somewhat sure that there is.There is just no info about this from 343, but it does have some merit. Why leave 2 guns without skins?A valid question but until 343 says yes or no to that matter it will remain a mystery.
For some odd reason 343 thinks that a worthless CSR only being visible on the forums will make the competitive crowd, they are quite wrong i will say.Since only a in-game CSR will mean anything.A very small percentage of people who bought the game ever visit the forums, so its pretty much useless.I personally would prefer a in-game CSR to show off.Since that is where it matter’s most. For example you join a lobby f 45’s that need a another 45, if i’m 45 they may invite me to join them. What i’m saying is that a in-game CSR can also be a social tool to group people together who have a common goal, to be better than most.Currently i have very little motivation to become better in Halo since i would nothing to show for it, and yes it does matter to those who care about it.
Second part was a bit off topic but i saw it being mentioned by other’s so i figured i give my 2 cents on the subject.Regarding the SR, i can only hope 343 does something about it.As it stands as it is for now, me and many others don’t have very much to anchor us down to keep playing Halo.I say “us” because i have seen many others that share that opinion.Mostly on 130’s will complain about it, because we reached the maximum level and have a hard time finding the next thing to achieve. There is stances but those are simply outrageous for what they are.

That’s the same reason i dropped Halo 4.

Not to sound like an old fogey but don’t you play Halo because you enjoy playing Halo instead of just playing to unlock stuff? Playing a game only to unlock stuff sounds like grinding instead of being fun.
I started playing online FPSs with Quake back in '96 and there were no loadouts, no ranks or anything to unlock in the game - we played it because it was fun just like I still play games as a hobby because it’s fun. Everybody spawned exactly the same, raced to try to get their weapon of choice where it spawned on the map - and one can still find Quake II games on the net going strong over 15 years after it was released.
However it seems modern FPSs that have progression and ranking systems begin to lose players once they unlock everything as if the gamer community has ADD and doesn’t play them for the enjoyment of the game. Would you guys play Halo 4 if there was no SR Ranking or unlock system?
