"New Spawning Idea"

During recent browsing on the Forums I found an interesting post about ODST Drop Pods. Then an idea flew into my head.

When looking for players in the multi-player lobby, You are continuously shooting down in an ODST Drop Pod, then once the game is ready, you land and get out of the pod.

For example, I select War Games.

My TV Screen shows this. In the Infinity, not in the air.

I then select Infinity Slayer and I am shot down.
Then I could move the camera around, maybe even find some Easter Eggs.
I can change my armor, change my controller scheme, modify other settings, whatever.
Then eventually when the game is ready I land, and exit the pod.
Game Start.

I know it’s a little useless, but it would be groovy.

Would be pretty awesome, I’d actually really like this idea.

I was expecting a poorly designed REspawn idea, but this is actually really cool. I’d love for it to be similar to the ODST drop in the beginning of that game.

Honestly, I wouldn’t mind this.

A good idea like this will be passed up…

But hey guys we can see through walls SO THERE’S THAT MUCH

That’s a pretty cool idea. How would it work on indoor maps though?

That was the only problem I saw. Other than making all the maps roof-less, I see no other way to make this work… I’ll keep thinking…

This would fit well for ODST 2.

Another Idea that flew through my head…

I actually had a similar idea. Have certain maps that are attack/defend type (non-symmetrical) have the attacking team drop in in pods. This would give the defenders a small head start to get to a fighting position, but it shouldn’t give them enough time to be able to pick off the incoming Spartans.

Honestly, I’d prefer the traditional lobby. It is a video game.
