So im sure everyone has seen the new art for Halo 5 Guardians by now and the Spartan teams (Blue Team and Locke’s Team) but my question is who is the rest of Locke’s team? I watched a little bit of Halo Canon on Youtube and found possible ideas for the crimson female spartan as Spartan Tanaka or Macer(Both are characters that were introduced outside of a game, so why bring them up now? perhaps they make cameo appearances in the game or one is the crimson spartan), a possible theory the ODST/Nightfall Spartan is Buck (This seems obvious as in Halo Reach and in other media, He has been thought of as a good candidate for becoming a spartan), and the last spartan is hypothetically Romeo because he and Buck are “inseparable” so its likely but its speculation. They don’t seem like they are just random characters who change based on the player’s multiplayer armor, they really seem like theyre static characters who will be the same ingame appearing as co-op characters. so if not any of the possible candidates listed, who do you think they are?
I think with the whole Outer Colonies vs. Inner Colonies thing Buck is pretty much confirmed. In New Blood, he touched on the conflict between his Outer Colony origins and his duty as a soldier when he spoke to the rebel leader. There’s definitely room for a subplot involving that.
The other Spartan I’d theorise to be Macer from Nightfall or maybe Veronica Dare. Dare expressed interest in becoming a Spartan in New Blood and so would make sense, especially since she works for ONI and could have requested to join Locke’s team to stay with Buck whom she worried about being separated from.
The last Spartan I’d say is either a friend of Buck’s or maybe an entirely new character.

Not to doubt your statement but where was that mentioned? I could have missed it since I don’t read all of the expanded universe stuff, but I just checked glasslands, which she was mentioned in as being alive and as well as anyone can be when your a S III stuck in a shield world. Of course I also doubt she’ll be one of Lockes team members even if she’s alive as she’s still in her teens.
