New Spartan Armour sets

So my brother and I were talking about Halo, which we played a lot as kids. Because the combat hasn’t evolved much since Reach in our opinion (besides the new guns), were were considering what could be added to the game to bring in new life.

And we came up with some cool ideas. The best of which were the armour suits, so read on as I explain.

To increase the gameplay action, what if the special abilities were changed and enhanced to the following:

The Ranger: To get behind enemy lines, the jetpack is changed. Imagine and Iron-man suit type of flying…no shooting whilst you yourself blast off at insanely high speed into the air, landing (Super-Hero style ofc) with a smash, e.g. behind the sniper on the cliff!

The Sniper: Able to climb, not just sprint. Once on top of buildings or ledges, use your long-range radar to pick up enemies location and then get those sweet headshots!

The Human Shield: The shield ability is good great, but make it bigger and a little bit harder. To hold the front lines, someone needs to soak up gunfire whilst those behind can shoot back (I know overwatch has it already, but this encourages teamplay and teamwipes too much to be left out).

The Soldier: The every-day frontline machine-gun & Grenade Spartan…but with a twist. This Spartan has a short-range (we’re thinking like 5meter) Grappeling-hook, the kind that lets you board the enemy vehicles and take over**!**

The Rock: Armour lock was an awesome addition to Halo…but it would be lackluster compared to these…so… Just imagine a Spartan with a shotgun…that can Armour lock…and acts like a medic too. So, he becomes invulnerable, he creates a circle around himself that depletes the enemy’s shields and recharges your allies’ shields!

Espionage: Everyone hates spies. And the cloaked guy that assassinates you. But what if, you add some more salt to the Assassin. With his special ability, if within melee range, he will assassinate you up front with swift & brutal melee combat (mortal-combat style)! If he does this coming out of cloak, it gets an instant reset, allowing for a sweet double kill!

The whole premise for this is that technology should be evolving with time. If the Humans were to invent new technology for war, it could well look something like this.

New Spartan Suits**!** Make the Suit do the ability, not just the skill picked. It should be clear that the suits have been upgraded to do new stuff, and it’s not possible to have all these new powers on the same suit.

(Well, maybe for the master chief in the campaign…as he progresses he aquires new abilities to enable more choice and carnage…imagine the possible boss fights!)

I do instead prefer the equipment system used in Halo 3 which in essence works that you have the option to pick up and then use single-use equipments which either offer something like a temporary cover or a special ability like invisibility.

This sounds a lot like games like Overwatch which is not what Halo is. Halo MP is about fair starts and map pick ups (power weapons, equipment, etc.) with a few powerups (including armor abilities and equipment) that all players can use.
