New spartan ability for halo 6 - undercover

This gives you the ability to change the color of your spartan to the same color as your enemy.

For example playing red vs blue… if you’re red then you activate the Undercover ability making your spartan appear blue so that you can trick the other team into thinking you are a friendly. By going Undercover you will infiltrate your enemy team, gain their trust, learn from them, become one of them as you bring them down from the inside.

Obviously for balance purposes the color change will only be temporary.

No! how do these abilities you have presented over the week actually benefit gameplay. All they will lead to is chaotic and unfair gameplay to the people on the other end of these abilities. The last thing Halo needs to do as add more clutter with spartan abilities that end up creating unpredictable gameplay.

How will teamplay work if you can’t even trust your team if you are too concerned of getting stabbed in the back?

We already have active camo which already fills this gap of in creating stealthy gameplay whilst also not causing issues that would start to pop up if ‘undercover’ was implemented. Camo works well because it is a map pick up which creates map control which is a skill, so if ‘Undercover’ was a core ability that takes one button on your controller to activate how does that add any skill to the game that is fair to the people using it or to the people on the receiving end.
Active camo also due to its unintuitive nature of being a map pick up can be removed from the map if it ends up damaging the gameplay, whilst on the overhand making ‘undercover’ a core ability would make much harder to do so.

If you ask me halo played so much better without the abilities like sprint and ads, so adding gimmicks to a game filled with unnecessary clutter is not gonna help halo in any way.

Look, these ideas you have are creative and cool and I could get behind them if they did not outright ruin the core mechanics of the game, but honestly, as it stands halo would benefit so much more if it could keep things simple, Undercover would honestly, in my opinion, be a cool idea if we didn’t have active camo already and it was a map pick up in the game, it might even work in another game perhaps, but having this ability as a core mechanic is down right stupid and it is the last thing halo needs.

I’d really rather not have to deal with false-flag operations in Halo multiplayer.

No this isn’t TF2. I would constantly be worrying about who might stab me in the back lol.

For your information, OP, you could simply compile all of your other posts into a single one rather than creating multiple copies. But I’m afraid it’s a bit too late for that.

As for the ability, it’s too TF2 Spy-esque. Just stick with Active Camo if you want to sneak around.

This would never work as a Spartan ability, As an armour ability it might work if it had a short duration and/or long cool-down.

You’ve made three different threads suggesting different Spartan Abilities over the last few days. Instead of creating a new thread every other day when you come up with a new idea Spartan Ability, please just add these ideas to an existing thread.

I’ve locked the Hack and Undercover threads, and left open Horn, as that is the oldest. Feel free to edit the ideas from these threads to the OP of that thread.
