New Skulls For Campaign, Firefight and SpOps.

I have recently been playing the campaign and wondered the skulls are getting a bit stale… I want to see a few more be implemented. Here is my idea for one that would help re-playability:

Nostalgia - Relive history…

This skull reverts all guns, vehicles and perhaps enemies designs to that of a older title.

Example
Halo 4 BR design is reverted to the Halo 3/Halo 2 BR design.

OR

Halo 4 Warthog reverts back to Halo 3 Warthog

OR

Halo 4 Storm Elite, becomes a Halo 3 Elite Minor

Idea: So we can relive the past Halo Saga…

I would like to see some of the skulls from Halo CEA in future Halo titles. There were some really interesting ones. And overall, the more skulls, the better. The main thing for me would be that they have to be found, not that they are unlocked by default.

I would like to see the return of some CEA skulls:
Boom (makes it harder and easier at the same time)
Foreign (tho it would have been very hard in H4)
Bandanna (makes it too easy to complete levels, but it was fun to use sometimes)
Malfunction (was very fun)

and also the explosive grunt headshot skull

It would be more fun to have to unlock the skulls again by finding them like in CEA

I think Skulls should both be unlocked and found. As in: have the core things be unlocks, and the really awesome ones hidden for you to find.

As for the types: I think it would be awesome to have some from CEA back, but also from Wars. Wuv Woo preferably. Makes no sense at all (then again…it’s predecessor was a flying purple hippo with a hat that shot a rainbow beam…) but it would be just awesome to have in the game if Scarabs are involved.

Also maybe include some new things:

  • This is it baby, hold me: randomly transforms a friendly NPC to Sgt. Johnson
  • Classic is better: Reverts to CE settings (no AA’s/Sprint/regen. health)
  • Torture me, please: Jackal snipers are New Mombasa veterans…
  • Vintage: Reverts to MK.V armor, CEA style.
  • Predators: All Elites have Active Camo (FF only preferably…)
  • Boom, headshot!: All enemies have bobble heads (nice in combo with Birthday skull)
  • Walking Dead Spawns two armless Flood that will follow you everywhere.

I’ll just stop here.

^^

I like all of these so far! Would love the inclusion of the CEA skulls (especially Malfunction, and ESPECIALLY if each death took away a random HUD element permanently, not just for that death).

Here’s a few I’d like:

Does “blarg” mean “yes?” - All Covenant forces speak Human languages.

Parasite - Each level has Flood Infection Forms that will randomly crawl out to infect your dead enemies.

OSP - The player starts the level without any weapons and must find them on the field (can still use melee).

Helljumper, Helljumper, where you been?! - Start the level with some ODST buddies!

That one skull from H2 what makes enemies invisible would be nice too

Gold Skulls:
Spaaaaace - Gravity is automatically halved.
When Grunts fly - All enemies are given a jetpack
William Tell - All enemies have increased accuracy.

Silver Skulls:
Orchestral - All weapon sounds are replaced with musical instrument sounds.
Fan favorite - Every kill results in a crowd cheering.
Where’d this come from? - You spawn with random weapons, equipment, and grenades.

Vacation - Invisible walls and death barriers go bye-bye.

Alright, so I had some of these on a very similar thread by ‘The Mayft’, but that one got locked since I’m sure he was unaware that this one was out there. Also, don’t take this as double posting, since this is the active thread and I added in a few new ones. :T

<>I Need a Weapon: (Burnt-out Spartan helmet Skull)
Start each rally point/certain interval without any weapons. Only two grenades, type depends on level. Must pick them up from fallen enemies. Weapons caches do not exist. Oh, and small enemies like the Grunts or Crawlers don’t even drop.
Multiplier: +0.5 to 1.0

<>With a Bang: (Brute Skull)
A bit like black eye, except you must inflict damage via grenades and explosions. Possible system for how this works: The percentage taken out of opponent’s shields is around the amount you reacquire. Ex: Kill an Elite, 75% of shields regen; take out a Jackal’s shields, about 15-20% of shields regen.
Multiplier: +1.5

<>Resurrection: (Promethean Head Shell)
Watchers (considering they’ll return) now bring back not only Knights, but Crawlers, Hunters, Elites, (maybe Jackals?,) and other Watchers at an increased rate, if the ‘body’ is still there. Resupplies them with Forerunner tech.
Multiplier: +0.5 to 1.0 (Loopholes will NOT be excepted)

<>Friendship: (Grunt head surrounded by rainbows and flowers)
Instead of fleeing, Grunts now turn to your side when scared.
Multiplier: -1.0

<>Overload: (Elite Skull)
Hoping that they’ll at least return in campaign, enemies use an increased amount of armor abilities, and I mean increased. Even the noobie enemy classes will have them. Oh, and delayed regen cycle for your AA’s.
Multiplier: +0.5

<>Countdown: (Hunter Head)
Have a certain amount of time to reach the next checkpoint, beat the next wave, etc., or else you have to start over from the the last rally point/beginning/round.
Multiplier: +1.5

<>Foot Soldier: (Vacant Engineer Shell)
In certain levels that include vehicles (ex: Reclaimer), the player may no longer hijack or pilot any other form of transportation, unless completely necessary.
Multiplier: +1.0 (Once again, loopholes will either drop or not count for score, like a level with very minimal vehicle usage.)

Finding skulls was one of the main reasons for me to keep playing each level.

SO BANNED.

I like your skull ideas. We seem to have the same type of idea for one of our skulls. Mine being “OSP,” yours being “I Need a Weapon.”

(I like your version better)

I SUPER like the Friendship one. That could be a lot of fun building a Grunt army. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, I’m up for some new skulls, but if Bandanna comes back, it should be the hardest skull to obtain. lol

A few more!

Easter Bunny: Whats up with all these easter eggs? (Places random weird stuff like the monkey men in H3, Jonesy the calico cat from CE’s message board, a pack of bubblegum -> nod to Duke Nukem’s nod to Halo, washed up codfish, etc etc)

IDDQD: Spell Doom on your enemies (God Mode)

Power of the Scarab: Scarab Gun spawns somewhere in the level. Find it: have fun. Combine with Wuv Woo for maximum fun.

Roaring 20’s: Applies Reach’ ‘Old Timey’ effect, increases movement of everything to emulate that ‘skipping frames’ effect of vintage movies.

I Love Bees: 5% chance an enemy killed with an headshot will explode in a swarm of bees. Similar to Grunt Birthday.

I posted this on a another topic:

OP, I like your thinking on the skulls’ abilities, they seem pretty cool.

I’d much rather the use of Halo Reach’s model for the Warthog and the Elite Minor. The Warthog Model changed very little between Halo 2 and Reach, so they might as well use most graphically advanced version, and the Elite Minor armor in Halo Reach was based far more closely to Halo CE and 2’s original Armour design than Halo 3’s.

Hmm, but Halo 5 is a game that I’d want to avoid nostalgia goggles.

There’s some good ideas in this thread, but I like this one especially. It would be pretty cool to see some of the older enemy, ally and weapon models in this game. Perhaps something that would turn the Storm Rifle into a regular Plasma Rifle? Or perhaps a Brute Spiker into a Brute Plasma Rifle with similar sound effects? The possibilities are nearly endless…

I’d also like to see a skull that translates the Covenant’s languages into English as well as some of the skulls from Halo: CEA.
