Halo Needs to be more like the movie “The Fountain.” A very underrated film By Darren Aronofsky.
This was an emotionally moving story about a man and his wife ( or rather 3 men and their ladies of interest ) through out 3 different time periods, with one of them being in the far future.
The relationship between Cortana could really use some oomph from this style of story telling and the dynamics and actions of the characters as they seek to save their loved one.
The Journey entailed in the movie can definitely provide some great material to draw upon to develop the complexities between Chief and Cortana.

Perhaps an appropriate title for a Halo themed song By Mansell would be“Requiem for a Dawn.”
I wish Halo 4 told a modified version of one of the stories found in “The Fountain.”
As such I’m going to take a shot at writing my own rendition of Halo 4. My own way. The story between chief and cortana didnt seem or feel very moving in the game. It felt forced. I would like to change that by drawing inspiration from the Fountain…I am not pleased with the direction of Halo 4 being focused so much on things the infinity, military, spartan 4’s and other hard military stuff. It needs to be more about life, death, betrayal, trust and sacrifice than about the drama of the UNSC.

This Dialogue contains possible Spoilers from the real Halo 4 storyline. Do not read if you have not completed the Campaign.
“Chief !”
Cortana yelled.
“I found it. That Sarcophagus the Librarian spoke of ? It contains a forerunner. a female. The crypum says it’s the Didacts Daughter…How can that Be…?”
“They say a son betrayed his father… A story told long ago spoke of the gods and their fury… and of vengeance.” - unknown character
Chief looks up from the ground to see A promethian guard looming above him, its curious face leaning in, tilted, looking strangely at the Spartan, observing him as if remembering it too once lived in Human form.
…manipulating holograms as the Ship crumbles to bits around them.
He looked at the fire coming around the sides of his ship as coronal heat waves roiled around the sides, slowly engulfing the forerunner vessel.
…As if a cloud containing evil obtained a semblance of form. It reeked of death. Yet it had no power over those except who came to it. Thus was the strength of their Domain that even this creature would not tread upon the stars.
“They became…An Abomination.”
“Oh my…ohhh how the tides have turned…! hahaha…I…AM A Genius ! What have you to say now… RE-claimer !?”
“Chief, Beyond here You know I can’t go with you. You’ll be Ok though…I know it.”
Having become elongated from his transformation, armorers shaved of those two awkward teeth, lest he appear like the v’hem pyir of the dark moons.
