You know the old rocket launcher design is in the game? As a legendary variant.
Don’t care, as long as it blows stuff up.
The old one is coming back as a legendary weapon, so the new one can stay. Though I do think the older one is a lot cooler in design.
I like the new one, far more practical than the M41 Spnkr.
As much as Iove the good ol’ two paper towel tubes taped together model, I kinda like the new one.
Plus Spankr is returning as a legendary so it’ll be even more fearsome anyway.
I like the new one.

Since the old one will return as a legendary, the new one can stay.
The new one is so generic its pathetic.
Never really cared much for the old launcher myself.
I can see the appeal of the old one but from a design perspective that thing was atrociously silly and stupid. Twin barrel design which rotates meaning mechanical complexity that it doesn’t need, and every time you reload you basically toss the entire tube assembly leaving essentially the trigger and handle. You couldn’t expect a soldier to carry that, spare ammo for it along with the rest of his gear it would be ludicrous. Still iconic, but like I said from a design perspective…
The new launcher looks much more feasible and practical. Single tube, rather than tossing the entire tube assembly to reload it’s simply a box magazine. Makes so much more sense and I could actually see human soldiers carrying that with spare rockets. The SPNKr? Not a chance, a human could carry the launcher and whatever load was already in it and they’d have to toss it when it was empty because after it’s empty it just becomes dead weight.
I mean you have to look at it and think, this weapon will not just be used by Spartans. Army and Marine troops will have to use it too so you can’t make it the most absurdly sized thing ever.

This
I like both designs but the sound effects are very nice on the new design but old does look bad-ss. But the new one in terms as a military replacement would make since, say your the UNSC and you have a choice between to smaller and lighter but just as strong new design or the large and bulky old design, It’d be smart to make the change since the new would be easier for troops to hold and carry.
Nostalgic as the old design is, it’s highly impractical. The new design is much more “futuristic”, in my opinion.
I just wish the gun was not that military green or at least add some some grey or black in the green, but I am not gonna lose any sleep over it if they don’t.
The old rocket launcher was just to clunky that it felt awkward, the new one however feels very slick.
Hey OP,
Have no fear, you can avoid change because the old model is available in Halo 5 as a legendary weapon. You can hold on to your nostaglia!
The new one is too much like any other shooter
Anyone have a screen shot they can share?

I don’t think so. The reload mechanism, the in-built scope. It looks and sounds more futuristic.
If it were an rpg where you shove the projectile in the front then it’d be like other shooters.

Of the old or new Rocket Launcher?
