For Halo 5, many people didn’t enjoy the idea of the req pack unlocking everything or anything without doing or completing something first. For Halo 6, if they continued with req packs, couldn’t they at least have you complete a certain part of the campaign, reach a certain SR, or anything else then unlock a piece of equipment(Armor and Helmets… DUH) that you then have to receive via req-pack. I would think this is kinda cool and stuff.
So people can complain about the grind or the difficulty of completing whatever objective to get to whichever pack contains whatever armor or helmet they want? There be no pleasing the masses.

but it could be more accepted even though the current one was accepted well enough to few people.
I’d rather see the commendation system be utilized a little more. Rather than just having a small amount of XP and sometimes an emblem being granted to you upon completion of a commendation, I wouldn’t mind having certain armors locked behind them instead. Although I already go for the commendations whenever possible, it really gives you more of an incentive to complete them.

Better idea: Req packs only unlock the base sets and access to variants we get from completing challenges… OR we get the coolest variants from completing challenges and can only wear them after we’ve unlocked the base set in a crate, either one works.
I’d really like to see a weapon-skin progression system too, with weapon-specific skin rewards for doing things with each weapon and a final skin for completing every weapon.
The don’t necessarily need a pack for it, although that does sound cool. It’s clear they have no problem bloating the req system they just need to balance it out a bit with some stuff earnable ONLY through game play of some sorts.
Well u used to get the helioskrill by completing legendary campaign.
And it would be cool that like instead or with the emblem u get in commendation packs u could get an armour piece
this is a good idea, but you would need alote of special reqs just for this purpose or everyone will get them really really fast.

Actually, I think the reverse would work better. Make the plain variation of each armor tied to an achievement of some sort, then make the variants available through a REQ pack or something similar. Skin variants could then only be used if you have already unlocked the plain variant.
That way, we don’t have the armor unlocks being tied to RNG and lootboxes while retaining a microtransaction system (which is kinda necessary at this point if AAA games are to stay at $60).

I like this idea but I don’t think it’ll work. It’s hard to convince people to buy boxes if they also have to complete an achievement to show off what they bought. Better to let people buy things and then let achievements customize those things.

True. I just don’t think the community would react very well to locking the base armor sets behind the will of RNGesus, which is why I personally think it would be unwise for 343 to pursue such a system.

I agree, but that’s what we’ve got in Halo 5 right now unfortunately. I’m trying to propose a compromise, if we have to monetize it, let us have our unlocks somewhere too. My favorite idea was letting things like visors or weapon skins be from achievements, and everything else be in packs.
Feel free to use the existing wish list threads in General Discussion if you want to talk about future games or features for future games, let’s keep this forum for Halo 5. Thanks
