One of the main complaints i have seen about the GEN2 armour is that it looks “plasticky”. Considering the capabilities of the Xbox One, it should be possible to render the armours to give them a more dense, metallic look. That and black undersuits. Also maybe some dirt and scratches here and there.
Someone did a render of the Venator armour in such a way that it looks super badass and metal.

I to liked the fact that the armor in Reach had the worn look to it, humanity was getting its -Yoink- kicked and Spartans were in the field non stop. H4 had the look of what happens when the UNSC had some downtime and got to work on new things.
I think the rendering system in Halo 5 will be a massive upgrade. The closest reference so far I look at in terms of lighting, texture quality, and level design/detail would be Destiny.
I’m not a fan of most of the armor design in 4. I mainly like the looks of “human” looking ones such as Recruit, Warrior, Scout, Recon, Mark VI, etc. To me, all others look like rejected Forerunner design and too hideous for a human Spartan, just my thoughts.

Not to be an -Yoink- but.
Old ≠ better
Also to be honest, I dislike the plasticy look, but I’m okay with most of the armor designs in Halo 4, there are some that I dislike, IE Recon, but I also enjoyed a lot of the armor from past Halo games minus a few, and would love to see them all return in Halo 5. BUT without the plasticy look to the armor, I I’d love it if the armor had some fusion between Metal, carbon fiber, and some plastic/rubber elements.
I’m talking armor plating that is metal finish, the gasket around the visors and helmet plastic/rubber.
The Link that someone posted, that’s how the armor should look.

If I opposed the Halo 4 Armors for not being “Classic,” then I would be demanding only being able to use the Mark V Helmet and choosing a solid primary color…
The Halo 4 Armors look cheap, nonfunctional, and misplaced. They fail to render properly in game, and the Helmets themselves each have one little flaw that makes them look hideous.
