If you don’t want to read this whole thing here is the short version:
Irish gamestop website says infinite release date is december 31st 2019 and you can pre oder now, more details and links below
Ok so I was looking through instagram, and I saw that picture of the Halo Infinite pre-order thing from austtralia, and though, oh, just another fake leak or whatever. That was a couple days ago, but I saw it again today, with a caption of something like “this is for real guys no joke” so I decided to look it up. I search “halo infinite pre order” and I get to this page.Halo: Infinite GameStop Ireland as the first result. So naturally I flip out, and look at the american gamestop site and I don’t see anything. I go back onto the irish gamestop, look up halo (Shop Consoles, games, accessories & loot | GameStop Ireland) and it has the release date of 12/31/19! This sounds like a very real date for halo infinite and I am pretty convinced this is true, and definitely NOT as fake as the 12/28/18 release date that was floating around for about the last week.

Yes, and over the past week like I mentioned before there has been a date of 12/28/18 which everyone has said is a placeholder and I agree as there is no way that it could release so soon when there hasn’t been any marketing or betas. Anyway, I’m not saying this is a confirmed release date, I am just thinking that it could be an actual one, and it is definitely in the proper time frame for the game to release. Although I would like to play infinite asap, I don’t want the game to be incomplete or buggy at launch, so for a good game, this date seems realistic.
I keep using the same example, but where would Gears 5’s launch fit in 2019 if this date was indeed correct? It was quite obvious at E3 that Infinite was in a much earlier stage of development than Gears 5 and there’s no way Microsoft would launch both games at the same time. Additionally, while no month and day has been provided, Gears 5 is confirmed to have a release in 2019.

I’ve been gaming since before consoles were a thing, I cannot remember any title releasing on New Years Eve. I would say that’s a place holder, and I’ve seen other coming soon games with that date. I don’t think it’s true, I went to the GAME UK website, when I searched Halo Infinite I got zero results, now that is weird because it was there not long after E3.

I hate the fact you are right but you are right. If Infinite were releasing in 2019 it would have been a focus at E3 this year alongside Gears and Crackdown 3 among others.
It’s not real, it’s a placeholder date. Different retailers have different placeholder dates. They probably set a 2019 placeholder so they don’t have to change it at the end of the year.
