> I get the whole TEAM play is being emphasized, but reality is: Very few players use their mics to communicate. Since the games release, I’ve only come across a handful of players who have their mics on. That doesn’t mean I go rogue and fight my own battles, but playing in silence gets you so far. So if I get placed on a “team” that wants to play solo, why punish me? I think skill should play a role in your rank. Not just win or lose. I’ve had some really bad games where I almost contributed nothing, but got ranked up cause we won. Not fair for the other guys that did way better than me. Still going to keep playing though despite the quitters out there.
Believe it or not, but your skill can be fully determined from nothing but your wins and losses, provided that you do not play with the same team all the time. I highly doubt there’s anything wrong with the ranking system itself. My bet is that, once again, the matchmaking algorithms may be too generous with the range of skill you are allowed to match in. This has always been the problem because search speed is (somewhat understandably) always prioritized over skill to some extent.

Nah, theres a lot of people playing, at least that’s what I want to believe
Blueball cannon is right. Matchmaking would take twice as long. On the plus side it’s nice to have a challenging match, or an easy match every now and again.

I’m pretty sure they did it the same.
Silvers still end up matched with bronze and gold players occasionally.

Yeah, but you were matched against a player with the same performance in a hidden rating called MMR, so there was a 50% win ratio when paired against those of similar MMR.
It’s pretty messed up. Buddy I play with goes 6-4 in swat and gets onyx. I start playing with him, go 8-2, do better than him in about half of those games, and get placed platinum. Had to go back though my game history and verify to make sure it wasn’t just all in my head. Can’t really get behind an inconsistent ranking system that doesn’t make it clear what goals I need to achieve to rank up.

Yeah, I just went 1-9 in free for all and got placed in Diamond. I was consistently matched with players far above my skill level the entire time. SOMETHINGS NOT RIGHT, SIR.

Except the rewards based on win/loss aren’t consistent.

me too…now i dont even play slayer cuz i get my butt handed to me and I feel bad for pulling the rest of my team down…
it’s actually pretty accurate the only problem with it is the qualifying matches since it’s all randies you can win all ten matches and get placed in the top tiers because of the qualifying matches. I think the only adjustment that should be made is that they should put a cap for top rank you can hit from winning your qualifying matches which should be gold (at highest) but otherwise it’s pretty accurate playing a lot doesn’t rank you up you HAVE to win to rank up if you lose you WILL rank down the problem is the qualifying system everything else is good. To the guy who said reach ranking system your an idiot reach had no system XD
Honestly i think they have it right on they ranking system but the problem with it is its win/lose crap like forreal im gold rank 1 on slayer and ill get like 20 kills 10 deaths and my team still loses and than i lose rank for my team sucking that shouldnt be our fault or go against us. every team im on a member quits and my team gets smacked. i think the ranking system needs to be based on skill not win lose. what you expect for a single player to do get 50 kills and win the whole game for the team just to get rank up ?
Play with a team, every halo that had a ranking system was based off wins and losses, as it should be, otherwise everyone will camp to have a positive kd instead of playing the game.
