> I have had so many games where I go 20 and 10, or something along those lines and still lose skill! This is due to all of my other team members going horribly negative. They need to revamp the system fast because so many players are in the wrong tier. If somone goes 2 and 17 they are not Diamond, and I shouldn’t suffer for their poor play!
kind of related but completely off the halo topic: Mario kart has the most skill based ranking system of any online multiplayer out there. You win (or place in top 4 or 5) and you get points, you do terribly you lose points. Amount of points you get varies based on the people you just beat/lost to. So if you’re 1000, and you beat a bunch of people higher than you, you’ll get like 25 or more points, by if you’re like 3500 and you lose, you lose points. Dont see why online shooters can’t adopt a similar system, obviously we wouldn’t start off at 1000 like Mario kart
We all miss the Halo 2 ranking numbers. They looked cool and were true skill. If that system was brought back and tweaked to accommodate losses and player drop out losses it would be the best! IMO. Bring back the Halo 2 slick looking number system in a classic slayer playlist or I won’t be playing halo for more than 2 months.

> they should have the halo 3 ranking system, actually made me feel like i was good. i have always thought the “getting points and ranking up” system was crap. just cause you play a lot doesn’t mean you should be the top rank, only way to get the top rank is to do good and earn it.
I’ve never been, nor do I expect to in the future, dominate the map as I’ve seen others do. In my opinion The ranking system should reflect separate stats for total achievements (dedication) and the skill rating should reflect the performance stats. Matchmaking should be based purely on performance stats.
Bring back the 1-50. I wanna be excited to get to lever 16 horns! Then 25 purple ! Who remembers these days when you seen a level 40 and got scared. In the first 6 months of halo 2 met a level 50 which was a halo ring. Like only 5 guys had it at the time.
yes but the whole point of the online gameplay is to work as a team and the reason you deduct points is because you are not helping your team mates, if you do not want team mates then go on free for all
Does anyone have a link explaining EXACTLY how the H5 ranking system works? In terms of points needed, how many you get and how you get them? I can’t seem to find that stuff.
i like this gameplay, the way it is set out and he ranking system it is fun and enjoyable, if you do not like it then you are spoilt and shouldn’t play it because what’s the point in[ playing the game and not enjoying it because it is just a waste of time
Stop complaining about the ranking system! HALO is finally BACK! Halo Reach and Halo 4 were not (Authentic) Halo’s! 343 finally got it right! Im sure thanks alot to the pros! Point being stop complaining and go play the story, if you cant handle arena

I agre. The halo 3 ranking system was the best. It totally marked the difference between skill and exp. For example i was skill lvl 43 and only got matched with lvl 40-46. And in this halo i’m ranked gold, when a lot of worse players are better ranked than me.
whats the deal im in onyx and yet people in diamond 1 are doing better. I had a game of 3 onyx on each team and 1 diamond on each team the diamond on my team came second and the other teams diamond player came 1st ???
Lookin at your most recent defeats you’ve gone negative yourself a few times except for one where you went 17-12 and the rest of your teammates went negative.

I don’t get it. Do you agree or disagree with Greassy?
The only problem I have with Halo 5’s ranking system is that you have do dig through the Post-game Carnage stats to view someone’s rank, and I doubt many people do that. It kinda ruins the point of ranking up for me.
Hasn’t every new Halo game had a messy time of refining whatever ranking system that is in place? Always seemed like it to me. But yeah I get it. I have ended up in matches with folks way above my rank for better or worse. And more players using their mics would be nice, seems I find only one other per team per match that is on and willing to talk. Oh well.
