I think what you’re talking about is how when you win you just don’t progress much. Yeah, okay seems like someone hasn’t read the matchmaking feedback threads.
If your MMR (MatchMaking Rating) is higher than your CSR, you will gain 15 CSR points for a win and lose 1 CSR point for a loss
If your MMR (MatchMaking Rating) is lower than your CSR, you will gain 1 CSR point for a win and lose 15 CSR points for a loss

Ok. I think you mean Current Spartan Rank for CSR. But what do you mean by MMR being higher or lower than CSR and how to change this?? Sorry for the dumb question if its obvious.

MMR = Match-Make Rating/Rank.
It’s your TrueSkill rank. Simply put, it’s the metric that the skill-based matchmaking system (SBMM) uses to create balanced matches. This metric is hidden primarily because it tends to be a bit too volatile which can easily lead to player base confusion. Every matchmaking playlist, except the Firefight playlists, use MMR. - CSR = Competitive Skill Rank.
It’s the playlist specific visual rank you can earn when finishing 10 placement matches under Ranked Arena. CSR is designed to be less volatile than Match-Make Rating/Rank (MMR) so that players aren’t confused by any potential dramatic shifts that would occur from outlier matches. It simply helps reign in rank progress and gives a more controlled state to the visual reflection of your skill which in turn supports its other functions/uses. While CSR is basically a visual indicator of your hidden MMR it’s also designed to play some important roles which MMR doesn’t provide. CSR, paired with seasonal resets, are designed to create incentive to re-invest time into ranked playlists in order to re-earn a visual indicator of your skill. They also help lessen the sensation of a so-called “rank-lock” because a typical seasonal reset will place your CSR (once ranked-in) a certain amount of points below your MMR causing players to play additional matches (post placement) in order to re-converge their CSR and MMR. This process ensures players continue to prove to the system that they deserve their skill ratings (CSR & MMR) since time away (not playing) does have a deteriorating effect on your skill. - SR = Spartan Rank.

It’s possible that your MMR actually went up despite the fact that the loss caused your CSR to go down.

I can feel the pain of that, best advice I can give you to assure that you have 3 other reliable teammates is to party up with friends to avoid the woes of playing with quitting or “bad” randoms.

Why the 4th element am I Diamond 4 at the end of season but qualify at platinum 6 csr? No wait let me FINISH. I work my way up EVERY time but I qualify at platinum 6 free4all?! I understand I’m 200 csr below my mmr at initial placement but just -Yoink!
My real gripe is, I can hold my own against champions and onyxs, and I’m still getting better. What “really” grinds my gears at the end of the day at 343 is this. I just placed PLATINUM 1! In TS!! Wtf!? I’m always diamond 2 or higher at the end of the season so tell me this 343. How does your ranking system justify ranking a Diamond 4-5 free for aller at platinum 1. …? Oh get this you will lyao. I get a plat 1 placing right? (Guffaw) and then IMMEDIATELY I’m facing d5’s and onyxs in sweaty match after sweaty match. Where. The. FXCC. Are the platinum ones. Because your new ranking system has some serious flaws in that’s why. Oh it’s trying to get me in the right place right? Right! But DOG I do well against champions and onyxs MYSELF and “I’M” punished because my random teamates can’t keep up. Now you ‘have’ to have a team of onyxs with you because woe unto you 15 loss because you go positive or just break even with onyxs but you lose because your random teamates quit or are just…platinum 1 huh?.
