New Ranked Playlists Are Needed

4v4 Attrition:
I have personally tested this mode with ranked settings in customs and it plays incredibly well. The settings would be normal ranked settings (BR starts, no radar, etc.). The attrition settings would be changed to 3 rounds to win instead of 2 (makes the mode much more interesting and provides more chances for a comeback) and I would also decrease the revive timer to either 1 or 2 seconds to keep the mode fast paced and allow for quick counter plays. This would be a great addition to ranked.

2v2 Slayer:
This is a staple of Halo since Combat Evolved. It needs to return as a ranked playlist.

6 Player FFA Slayer:
The current FFA works well but social settings let it down. A ranked FFA playlist will fit great with BR starts, plus ranked FFA is great for showing skill of solo players.

4v4 Tactical Slayer:
SWAT isnt for everyone but it is an important part of the Halo experience and deserves a ranked playlist like it has had in the past.

4v4 Arena:
This is the current playlist we have now. It includes Oddball, CTF, Strongholds. King of the Hill should replace Slayer in this playlist.

4v4 Slayer:
Slayer should be segregated from the arena playlist for those looking just to slay out and not play the objective.

1v1 Slayer:
This would be a cage match mode. No map pickups (except maybe equipment?). Just a head to head with BRs, nothing else to help you.

This should be a high priority as right now one playlist (technically three but matchmaking preferences shouldn’t replace the playlist variety we have had in the past) is not enough.

Agree with pretty much all of that…except I think the 1v1 playlist wasn’t particularity successful years and years ago (can’t remember which Halo it was last in…Halo 2 or 3?) and was subsequently dropped from existence (it wasn’t in Halo5 at all…or at least not when I stopped playing).

I never thought I would say this either, but with the road they are clearly going down with challenges (whether we like it or not) they need to remove Team Slayer from the Quickplay gametype rotation…it’s bad enough getting in to a specific objective gametype as it is without having Team Slayer getting in the way too especially as it has its own dedicated social playlist.

I agree that the 1v1 playlist has never been the most popular and it is sort of an optional one in my opinion but I do think its important to try it out again as it may be successful in Infinite. Also it has had a few iterations in Halo 5. There was a traditional slayer variant and also a round based variant.

Yeah I used to love 1v1 in older Halo games…haven’t felt that nervous rush of anxiety in a tight game when the clock is running down for a long time! I think it was superseded by 2v2 so I’d be quite happy with that returning as it can be as equally as intense. They must be have introduced 1v1 into Halo5 quite late in to the lifecycle as I played that game to death for ages and got to 147?

Edit: thinking about 1v1 and 2v2…I don’t think they have maps suitable for either of those game types at the moment so the new maps would have to come first.

1v1 would be a fun rotational playlist especially if they had some super tiny 1v1 arena maps with maybe two power items.

The fact that this game was launched with such a bare bones playlist offering is a CRIME against the halo franchise. This game launched and had MORE people playing that ANY other halo up to this point and there was nothing for them to play. Imagine if this game launched with a multitude of playlists. SO many people would still be playing. And 343 wouldn’t have had to worry about individual playlist health because there’d be millions of concurrent players and peak hours and hundreds of thousands on off hours.
