New rank systen

that wasn’t even a rank system just a veteran status

HW1 rank was just an XP grind. It in no way showed you where you stood among other players skill wise. I prefer the implementation of the H5 ranks.

He’s talking about the actual ranks of players (General, brigadier, etc).

So what you’re telling me is that if I grind away at a game I’m not going to gain any skill? At all?? So you’re telling me that when you see a general in HW1 you don’t think “wow this guy has some serious play time”
And also did you just mention halo 5 ranks?? Are you one of those 13 year olds who’s first halo was Halo 4? Why is everyone in the forums asking for halo 5 things? MASTER CHEIF COLLECTION STILL DOESNT WORK.
With the current rank system I can get really bad players 10 times in a row and then get platimum and then get put into games with people way better than me. Is that what you want for everyone? Don’t ruin this game with your stupid little comments

yeah, i know. those were just how long you played the game.

If I remember correctly, it did have a True Skill system.

he wasn’t telling you any of those things. just saying that rank doesn’t mean skill. ofc when you see a max level person you’re going to think that they spent a lot of time in the game. and wtf? seriously? i don’t even want to mention the veteran stunt you tried to pull there. different opinions doesn’t make someone 13 lol. and if they’re better than you then you will derank and get put into a rank where your skill level fits more, and will be able to improve. it works out in the end.

There is actually no difference between the two besides one being the modern bronze-diamond and another being the old school of private-general. While I do miss being a colonel grade 3 in H3 it’s just as cool being Platinum 4 IMO.

Just use Halo 3 ranking system and everyone will be fine

Where do I even begin with this?

If you bothered to look at my service record, you’d see I’ve logged time in every Halo ever made, save for CE since they don’t have that on service record. But according to yours, you didnt pick up the series until Reach, and I laugh at that. Is being a condescending little -Yoink- your go-to tone whenever someone disagrees with you?

Time spent doesn’t equate to skill. Sure, you can pick up a few things along the way. But that doesn’t make you good at the game. Especially since win or lose, you still got XP. So you could have lost every single game ever played, and still hit max rank if you played enough. I was a general in HW1, seeing others really didn’t mean anything.

The game knows they were really bad players if you won 10/10 and only got platinum. If you understood the system at all, the initial placement matches consider things a lot deeper than winning and losing.

So please, sit down and do a little research before ever challenging me again recruit.

HW1 by miles.
When I search at 40-45 TS at a quick search I would actually get put into games against good people with good people.

Now I search at diamond 1 or something like that and get paired with noobs with a noob as my teammate.
Please go back to TS.

I can’t seem to find how the ranking works. I just completed my 10 games and was ranked Gold 5, but every single loss I had was because my random teammate either left the game, disconnected, or didn’t even make a single cap or steal. Then, I would get paired with a competent teammate, and we would dominate. I am curious how the ranking system works, especially with the hit or miss teammate matching. I finally got my rank in the “Veteran” playlist that should with help avoiding being paired with people who don’t understand how to play. However, then the game mode changed and I have to go through the 10 games to be ranked, all over again, and there’s no way to keep playing the first game mode. I had not ever played HW1, but before I jumped in to be someone’s teammate, I watched some videos and studied the controls so I wouldn’t be quite as much of a hindrance to my team. Unfortunately, some players don’t seem to care as much about that. In every game, except one where it was 2 against me (teammate left game), I finished with the most caps and steals. Now, I would really like to know if my rank is being severely hurt with the 1/2 crappy, 1/2 awesome teammates. Some might say it balances out, but if you want to be ranked well, I imagine you need better than a 50/50 win/loss percentage. Then, if you add in the two “instant defeats” that I assume were some timeout error at start, I have to wonder about how my rank was affected. I know this is a beta. I just want to know that if I put some time into learning and playing the game well, that I will have a chance at something better than a middle-of-the-pack ranking.

Then, after finally getting a rank that I hoped would prevent being paired with first-timers, the game mode changed to “Deathwatch”, which are very long games, and in my first three 30 minute games, my teammate quit before it finished, leaving me in a 2-against-1 situation, three times in a row, which has been extremely frustrating. My teammates may have left because of a hang or disconnect. I know it happened to me 2 or 3 times so far, too. I would really like to know how this will be factored in the rankings. I would also like to know how many times I will get a rank after 10 games, just for the game mode to change again and put me through the whole 10 games of teammate coin flips, again and again?

I think I will really like Halo Wars 2, but I would like to know if the forced game mode changes will continue, and I would like to know if playing a beta filled with disconnects and freezes will ultimately hurt my record or rank.
