New Quote from MLG player

“Halo 4 is too user friendly which allows for easier kills and less competitiveness then previous halo titles” - Ramone De Leon Halo 2008 MLG Champion

agree or disagree?

“Call of Duty is the only game where one’s FPS skills are truly tested.” - Said no one ever.

I don’t care what an MLG player says… I enjoy the game if he doesn’t then he’s obviously not MLG quality.

Why must you flock to the MLG to decide whether you like Halo 4? It’s annoying. Can you form a sentence without the assistance of the MLG?

Completely agree. Between all of the medals, the always-in-your-face announcer and the awful bullet magnetism, https://forums.halowaypoint.com/yaf_postst160341_Poll-Halo-4-Bullet-Magnetism-Needs-Toned-Down.aspx.

I am finished with Halo 4.

I will play the next episodes of Spartan Ops. And maybe a few games when new maps come out, but that aside, I am finished with this pile of feces.

The only thing that could bring me back to fulltime MP would be AR/BR start classic playlist.

Agreed.

Only defense of argument needed.

AUTO-AIM!!!

Never heard of him.

See, MLG means nothing. MLG are a bunch of people who make a so called “living” by playing video games “professionally”.

Seeing as that’s a joke to me, I would definitely disagree with this Ramone character, and suggest that he stop his whining and get a real job instead of trying to make it look like he’s some sort of professional.

On another note, I find MLG quite meddlesome in video games, as they believe since they are “the best,” that if they don’t like the game, it needs to be changed, or they won’t play it. I don’t have a problem with an MLG playlist because no one is forcing me to play it, but MLG should have no say in the standard metagame.

TL:DR MLG is just a bunch of people that play video games for a “living” who think they’re better at games than everyone else and as a result think that their opinion is higher than everyone elses’ and their word is law.

I don’t see the problem. It’s not all about “competitiveness”.
Also… obligatory “who”?

MLG is a good thing because when you watch MLG you know what’s good to use and what is going to get nerfed. it affects the whole community. look at any major games like starcraft and starcraft 2 the whole game is changed depending on what the is very good. Sc2 wouldent be the same if it wasent for pro players. we need them in order to balance out the game. I mean their job is playing games bro. You think some weekend warrior knows game balance then some seasoned MLG player. i think not

Disagree i find MLG is good yet bad for gaming

They are better than us. That’s why they’re MLG. But the trick is not caring that they’re better and enjoying the game anyway!

So your saying that because he doesn’t like Halo 4, he’s not MLG quality? Well, seeing how he was the champion in 08 where skill was actually required, I’d say he’s MLG quality.

OMG, Ramone De Leon from MLG and winner at 2008 said that!? :open_mouth:

I don’t Care.

This. The guy is a complete ghost to most of the Halo community. Play the game you want to play, competitive or for fun OR both. Halo 4 is 343i’s first big Halo title and I think they did well.

I’m not defending MLG by any means but did you seriously just say that?

MLG Halo players have every right to criticise the game and list its flaws, since they are the people that spend the most time with it, and have developed their skills on it the most.
If we was to listen to the casual audience when it comes to game mechanics, the game would be disgustingly bad, with 343 trying to appease too many people.

If 343 was to appeal to the competitive players, the more casual players will still follow.

I’d actually argue that Starcraft 2 is actually a very good example of what can happen if developers focus too much on the pro gaming crowd. The developers have pretty much admitted that they had to make a lot of compromises and throw out a lot of fun ideas, because one of their high-level goals was to make Starcraft 2 a spectator sport like the original, and a lot of fun game features don’t translate well to that kind of environment.

My philosophy, personally, focus on what you think is fun. If pro gamers like it, bonus, if they don’t, it’s not the end of the world

Couldn’t have put it better myself!

ugh… Halo 4 NEEDS competitiveness MAJORITY of the people who left the game were competitive at least add ranking like Halo 3’s for crying out loud all my games are to easy no strategy is involved aqnd it bores me quickly there needs to be an MLG playlist of soething like it…

And yet Starcraft 2 is a damn fine game if ever I played one.

Why should we care about the thought of a player who represent a minority of a minority who’s mantra is “let’s remove everything that makes Halo fun”?

MLG players shouldn’t be viewed as people who know good game design. What’s good for Halo isn’t necessairaly good for MLG.

Oh and nearly no one cares.
