New Quit Penalty suggestion for TU?

Does anyone else agree with me that 343i should introduce a new quit penalty system for Halo Reach? It seems the one that’s in place now just isn’t as effective at preventing quitters as the one used in Halo 3. From what I understand, players can quit a certain amount of times before they receive a warning. If they continue to quit they will be temporarily banned from matchmaking, correct?

I don’t think this is enough to keep people from quitting, as by the time they receive a warning, they’ve already left many games and annoyed a lot of people.

What I would suggest is to remove the temporary ban, and replace it with a Credit penalty for each game they quit. 1000 - 2000 Credits would be a nice place to start, imo.

What do you guys think?

I would like a different quit penalty because the one we have right now isn’t strict enough.

I don’t know, I have real paranoia over the quitting ban. Obviously I despise quitters, but living with my partner and child now,m often I’ll get “oh yea yea, you’ll have time for another game before we have to go to the shops” and then 2 mins later its “NOW, WHY ARE YOU SO DIFFICULT” xd. So often my choice is leave the tv and console on for an hour, or quit. Sure I could relegate my time playing to only night but I like to try and get a few fly games in during the day too  so I’m glad its not super strict, I’m already paranoid if I’ve done it too many times or whatever.

You heard the woman, WHY ARE YOU SO DIFFICULT!

But making the game a bit more stricter wouldn’t hurt.

if i am stuck with idiot randoms in a game, i am going to quit

XDXD

Agreed though. While this gives me a little leeway, its not exactly their problem the missus is on the warpath and suddenly they have 2 team members.

Then I think the root of your troubles is a flawed ranking system, not a bad quit ban.

How about implementing a 2 or 3k credit fine and a severe rank lowering (obviously this will only work if 343 adds a 1-50 type of visible ranking system). People rarely quit in high level arena for fear of their rank being lowered.

Yeah, I know a lot of people have a legitimate reason to quit. In that case, I’m sure they wouldn’t mind losing some credits for that. So you can quit knowing that you’ve lost some Credits, but not have to worry about being put on quit probation.

I’m completely fine with losing credits from quitting, as long as I can still play the game. I’m sick of getting quit bans just because I find no point of playing when I realize that either half of my team has already quit or my teammates are otherwise bad.

I tell you that there is nothing that can ever stop people from quitting, if you want to quit, you quit. That’s all there is to it, you can’t change it by punishing the player. In the end, the player will get even more frustrated.

System that rewards people for not quitting would be much better, at least it would give people some reason to stay in their games, but when you have teammates that can’t play, there is no incentive or deterrent to keep yopu from quitting. If I don’t enjoy the match, why should I stay in it.

How to make less people quit is to make the game more enjoyable. This can be done by making the TrueSkill actually match like skilled players and making the game mechanics good in general. This gives an enjoyable experience for everyone.
