New punishment for quitters?

So lately I’ve been switching between League of Legends and Reach, and the thought occurred to me that League’s system for quitters would work well in Halo. For those of you unfamiliar with League, when you quit a game, you cannot join a new game until the game you quit is over. You CAN, however, re-join the game in progress and pick up where you left off (in case maybe your internet cut out on you or whatever). Considering the level playing field of Halo (unlike that of League), it would work extremely well.

Thoughts?

You know that may be a good idea actually. Though I wouldn’t really call it a punishment as more of a system…

This is a pretty good idea. It punishes quitters who do it on purpose, and offers another chance to people whose Internet got cut off for a second.

Very nice. I salute you, League of Legends (which I have never played).

I want a vote to kick option for AFC people.

But op i like the idea!

It’s an interesting proposal. I like the idea. Now whether its feasible and will work in conjunction with the other possibilities 343 is building is another issue entirely.

Great idea but 343 won’t use it. Remember Halo is COD now so you’ll be able to join in another match right after you quit.

Just give them a time-out and call it a day

I would love that option, but it would have to only apply to AFC’s, the game would have to detect that they’re not playing, and give a warning (like 30 seconds or so) to the person to start playing before they are kicked, to prevent people from kicking anybody they don’t want to play with (playing with unskilled players is no fun, but if there is ANY way to kick somebody without some sort of AFC detection from the game, it will be abused)

I don’t think the LoL system will work because of the join in/dropout system, but what they could do is take away all the exp you have gained toward the level you’re on if you quit and try to join another game right way (and if you do it a lot ban you for awhile). This will make it take longer for you to get Spartan points to improve your loadouts (I am assuming you get SP when you level from exp). Of course this shouldn’t happen if you are gone for a longer period of time say 30 minutes, because sometimes you have to quit a game for a real life issue, also it should be able to tell if you disconnected and not punish you for that.
