My recent thoughts about the Pulse Grenade. I find it too be a very useful finishing tool.
I’ve used this load-out:
Starting Weapon: BR
Secondary Weapon: Magnum
Grenades: Pulse
Armor Ability: Hologram
Tactical Package: Grenadier
Support Upgrade: Dexterity
I’m just jumped into a Regicide match a half hour ago with this setup. Let me explain the selection.
I choose the BR because it’s my favorite weapon. Any kind of weapon can do the trick, but I highly recommend BR because it’s bleed trough ability or the Storm Rifle because it is good against shields.
Secondary does not really matter. I choose the Magnum because I like it.
Grenades: Oblivious, Pulses.
Armor Ability: You need to get some advantage. Landing the first shot is more than anything can come here. You can use *Jetpack as well or *Thruster Pack. (I does not use jetpack because I’m playing on Bumper Jumper, Thurster is good for CQB, can increase your survivability.)
Grenadier: The more is better now. You can pull of 2 or more kills/life with this setup.
Support Upgrade: This is really personal. I choose Dexterity because faster reloads and swaps always comes in handy.
The trick itself:
Only works in mid to close range! Find someone for a duel (FFA or Regicide is the best), draw his/her shield to approximately 1/3 of the full (3 BR bursts) then throw a Pulse grenade into his/her feet or if you can’t, a 2 meter radius is okay, you usually need to throw it behind him/her. A lot of people uses precision weapons, if you catch 'em in close range, they start to walk backwards. If they hit a wall with their back, your chance will be boosted greatly. The shots from your weapon will slow 'em down, then you can throw the grenade. It’s blast will kill of your foe instantly. Dang you got the kill!
*Jetpack: Throwing is much more easier if you do it from above. This is why I recommend it.
*Thruster Pack: If your enemy uses an automatic weapon and try to get close to you, then you have the ability to evade his/her fists.
