!!New Promethean Weapon!!

I was browsing the Halo 4 section of Xbox.com and decided to look at the 360 degree views of the characters. As I was looking at the Promethean Knight I noticed that the weapon that it was holding didn’t look all that familiar. In fact, it is disticntly different from the weapons I’ve seen.

Go to Characters and then click on the Promethan Knight (I would link to it directly but the website doesn’t seem to allow me to do so)

What do you think it does?

The Promethean weapons all reform and reshape to suit the holder. That means the Scattershot and Light Rifle all look very different in a Prothean’s hands than they do in a Spartan’s.

This takes you to a video, where is the character tab?

nevermind I found it

Very weird, good eye!, some kind of axe, chainsaw lol

I realize this, it’s more the front of the gun that looks different than the back though.

I’ve seen an image of a Promethean wielding a Light Rifle, and it still resembled a LR.

What we saw from the OP’s Link looks more like a crossbow than a gun.

No, they actually dont. Where did you hear that? when you look at a promethean that is holding a scattershot, it clearly looks like a scattershot. and one that holds a light rifle, clearly looks like a light rifle. again, where did you hear this?

Hmmmmmm must be GeneralCube’s grapple hook…

There are actually three new unidentified weapons.

A red promethean knight is holding one in the spartan ops trailer, a blue promethean is holding another one in the e3 campaign demo at the end, and the promethean that knocks out Chief at the end of the e3 campaign demo is holding a third mystery weapon.

And these weapons DO NOT change shape to their holder. There are prometheans holding the lightrifle and scattershot, and they do not change shape.

I’ve seen pictures of these new weapons. But I have not seen any pictures of the one I linked to in the OP.

They talked about it in the Gameinformer version of the Campaign Demo with dialogue. The guy from 343i said that Forerunner weapons change shape, size, and weight to suit the species that wields it. So when a Human holds it, it gains a grip, standard trigger, and in the case of the Scatter Shot, a pump-loader.

But it still doesn’t change too significantly. You can still recognize that it’s the same weapon.

Probably just means that the weapon can adapt to be used by a crawler or some other enemy.

It actually means that it adjusts to the user. So if a human picks it up it will look slightly different to make it more compatible to the user. For example, the current weapons get grips and triggers that humans are used to.

Could this possibly be the supposed new weapon that the Elite gets shot with in the campaign trailer? I personally think that that weapon was a Light Rifle, but it’s possible that it’s a new one.
