New Promethean Units, Weapons, Abilities...

So in Halo 4: Awakening, we had been introduced to the Promethean. A ancilla serving army of composes sentient biological… mostly Forerunner and Ancient Human. This was a interesting new change of pace… and it was partially to make a new Halo experience… the 343 Industries experience… Yet time restraints and lack of experience or feedback from the fanbase had rendered them quite cliche and role abiding… and not for filling there intended teamwork buffing superiority.

The way 343 Industries had accomplished most of their battles was through the Watcher… a ‘Spell Caster’ while the Knights served as ‘Tanks Warriors’ and the Crawlers as ‘Hunting Hounds’. It was a great concept… but it lacked a lot when it came to variety and so it was merely a repetitive situation. I want to see more with these types of Promethean… perhaps after facing the new Human Empire he creates a more suited Promethean to deal with the Spartans… or Covenant?

Please what do you reckon about this… and what would you add to the Promethean section of Halo.

Suggested Promethean Additions/Changes

NEW WATCHER POWER - Interference
I thought about perhaps a new ability the Watcher could use… a radar jammer of sorts? When the hero… Master Chief or Spartan-ONI… approach they loose their eyes in the back of the head… making crawlers flanking manoeuvres much more devastating… and the Promethean situations more fearful and weighted.

NEW PROMETHEAN UNIT - Forerunner Engineers and Forerunner Sentinels
I though about how the watcher serves the spell casting buffer role… and my thoughts turned to the Engineer… which was originally Forerunner so why not perhaps in a few instances add one or two in too boast the Covenant Remnant and Promethean forces… and also the Sentinels could in-fact be used on occasion when the Flood is met?

Great suggestions. More than anything, I was disappointed by the robotic nature of the Forerunner offerings. They were robotic in both appearance and behavior, like you said, and thus weren’t very unique.

The whole hound/spellcaster analogy is an interesting one, and could be improved upon.

As for the abilities, and EMP kind of warfare like the radar jammer only makes good sense. They were technologically advanced, EM warfare should be a given…

More than anything though, I want to see actual Warriors, Prometheans, or heck even Builder security instead of the Knights and their kin. No idea how they’d make it happen in the canon without delving into flashbacks or time travel, though.

Hmm… Forerunner Cryptums… perhaps the Ur-Didact is going after his other imprisoned brethren… it is suggested that the Ur-Didact was not the only one imprisoned in a Cryptum prior to his release on Erde-Tyrene.
