New Promethean pistol?

This is mostly based on the assumption that secondaries will return as a load out option of course.

As it stands the community doesn’t hold much love for the Bolt shot. If it were to be placed on the map or removed completely would you like to see a new Promethean pistol as a replacement?

Maybe it wont be a completely necessary addition but if one were to be implemented what would you have in mind?

Personally I haven’t the foggiest idea of how to create a new unique pistol. The best thing I can come up with is a pistol that fires in bursts like the BR and un scoped LR.

Maybe a Promethean automatic side arm would be a better idea or why not one new pistol ans one new Automatic for the Prometheans as side arms?

You guys got any interesting ideas?

To be honest I wouldn’t mind seeing the Bolt shot re balanced to work with load outs either so I’ll throw in a link to a discussion about it here

I am of the opinion that it is extremely hard to create an unique Forerunner weapon that also has to be balanced to properly fit into loadouts nor do I think Forerunner weapons should even exist in there.

Why?

Just take a look at the current implementations of Forerunner weapons in loadouts (and even in general).
The Boltshot is basically the anti-infantry version of the Plasma Pistol (weak single shot, powerful charge).
The Suppressor is a Forerunner reskin of the AR with the effectiveness of a SMG.
The Lightrifle is the only weapon that you could actually consider quite unique because of its different fire and damage modes.

That’s why I think that in case loadouts return it would be the best to focus on UNSC and Covenant weaponry only, while placing the Forerunner weapons as unique and overall superior weapons on the map.
Otherwise, you can easily risk to create just uninspiring reskins and disappointing additions to the weapon sandbox in general.
Besides, I think you don’t do the highly advanced Forerunner technology any justice, aside their aesthetics, when you try to fit them into any already existing weapon classes, especially the loadout class.

In conclusion, when you want to create really unique Forerunner weapons then they should have their own weapon class (Forerunner Weapons), in my opinion, because by giving them their own and separate class and placing them on the map you haven’t nearly any restrictions in their design.
