New Progression system tracking previous progress?

Will the new progression system in season 3 track all the progress we made during s1 and s2? I hope it does

I hope so but multiplayer is still considered a beta so i doubt it.

The community might consider it a beta but it’s not.

I would hope if it’s XP based they would know what we’ve earned so far.

MCC only introduced the season points when Reach was added and evwryone started at 0.

I’m totally fine if it starts from 0, will be happy to finally have one lol.

Really hope it’s similar to mcc’s I liked going through the different ranks

It’s possible and I hope they do that.

This stat tracking site appears to total all of your lifetime EXP gains and even gives you a MCC equivalent rank:

Do we know that’s coming in S3?.

All I know is that if it starts from zero and it’s XP based, I’m not going to be as into it. I’ve played 1700 matches at this point,

Is there actually any evidence from the devs saying they’re implementing a progression system in season 3? They haven’t talked about it at all, as far as I’m aware.

I’m assuming the progression system is going to be 100% separated from the Battle Pass.
Since Unyshek said that they pulled “fan favorite” Season 1 and 2 items from the store and passes for future earnable content, I am going to guess those items are being put into the new progression system. Which might also mean that they plan to add more tiers to the progression system each season.

So here are some possibilities that I’ve bounced around in my head.

  1. The battlepass/challenge progression remains the same as it is now. XP earned from challenges will only progress the battle pass. Likewise XP earned per-match will only progress the new progression system.
  2. Any XP earned is added to both the battle pass and the progression system. a 400XP challenge will earn 400XP in the new system and 400XP in the battlepass at the same time.
  3. Like battlepasses, you choose which is active. When you earn XP whatever you have the setting on, you will only earn XP on that. So you can put XP only into seasons 1, 2, 3, or the progression. Whichever you have currently turned on.

In any case, 343’s goal with the progression system is so XP earned after you finish the battle pass won’t be useless numbers. XP at any given time will go somewhere and let you earn something. And the progression system is meant to be a longer-term earnable track than a single battlepass.

It would probably start everyone at 0 when it is introduced, but it would be nice that for those of us who have been here this whole time that our lifetime XP shoots us to the appropriate level. A sort of “early adopter’s” bonus. It makes me wonder if season 3 will be a soft-relaunch if this stuff is planned for it.

I hope we get rewarded for playing s1 and s2. Im gonna be unable to play halo because of work starting in s3 and when i finally can pick it up again i dont want to be level 0
