New power-ups for Multiplayer

These are just ideas, but I think that they could be awesome additions… provided they are properly balanced.

So without further ado, here they are!

  • Vampric shields: Put it on, and you can leech enemy player’s shields for yourself at a limited range! - Tossable EMP: Straight from Halo: Headhunters, this device could take the place of your gernades as a single, tossable device that acts as a instant energy drain, that also disables player’s abilites, such as spriniting… - Promethean Vision/Radar Pulse: A short-range version of Promethean vision that pulses out over a period of time… - Teleport: Simply put, it replaces your thruster ability for a limited teleportation ability, like what the Promethean soldiers use, kind of like blink from Destiny, but it can also let you teleport through thin walls, allowing you to really get the jump on your opponent’s!What do you all think?

This wouldn’t be helpful in Arena, and I’m almost sure they wouldn’t put any powerups in Warzone.

And this is the close-mindedness that burns out Halo for me…

  1. If the vampiric effect did very little I. Am fine with that.
  2. The energy drain was nice to see in h3 but not sure how a deployables would work compared to the OS and camo ability.
  3. If the promethean visor only extends your radar then I would like it.
  4. The teleport should be like the teleport from Spartan strike, not destiny.

Because your additions don’t really make much sense, let alone make the game type fair?

  1. Vampiric ability, really? Just for being in the vicinity? That just… no.
  2. You want us to bring back the Halo 3 thing, that was already hated, and taken away by Bungie themselves? They are not helpful, they just become a nuisance.
  3. Why would this be helpful in an Arena gametype? Compared to the use of a overshield/Invisible, I’m more than sure than most people would choose one of the already implemented powerups.
  4. Teleporting? Sorry, but considering the abuse, and misuse of this I can’t condone this either.
It’s not close mindedness, it’s knowing that it won’t work very well. I understand your enthusiasm of your own ideas, but they don’t implement well.

  • Sure
  • It’s a single, throwable, instant device.
  • That would be useless in radar-less gametypes.
  • Spartan strike was a overhead ARCADE stick-shooter… that doesn’t translate into a fps very well last time I checked…

Okay then, guess we’ll use the same, basic power-ups from 5 games now, nothing new, yep. Old is good, new is bad.

Out of all of them, if I had to choose one, it’d be Vampiric Power Up. It’s more unique than the rest, and I would prefer the color of this ability to be Purple.

I think the draining effect should be strong in CQC. It would really compliment people be like to fight up close. It will have to change other people’s tactics, in that they would have to back away from the person. It really does have to be strong in its intended range, if not, I might as well Opt for Damage Boost.

  1. The only throwing mechanic in h5 are the grenades.
  2. Then it shouldn’t be in radar-less game modes.
  3. I’m talking about the function of the teleport. Not a TDSS vs a FPS.

well, in this case it is true. adding new features, mechanics and gimmicks just for the sake
of adding features, mechanics & gimmicks is neither innovative nor creative or helpful in any way.

or in other terms: why change somethings what isn’t broken?
those same basic power ups always worked well, so why change something about it?

Also, Vampiric ability should have a slight gravitational pull on your enemy. It will be strong enough to where it will “slightly” slow down your opponent an the out edges of its radius. In the heart of the radius, you will be pulled towards the enemy.

Awesome Idea, but it’s trade off is that it’s basically useless out of range.

These things sound good to me, would spruce up gameplay and be a big improvement

though id rather the EMP be a grenade than pickup/power up ability

The only idea that’s viable in any way is throwable EMP.
Too bad we already have that.
It’s called a pulse grenade.
Personally I’m hoping they get a buff in cast time, range, or will at least be affected by physics.
Either way, the other ideas are -Yoinking!- stupid. If anything, the vampiric ability should work similarly to the black eye skull, in that your shileds begin to regenerate, the moment you melee someone for a short period of time, but if you’re going to go that route, just bringing back regenerative field would be a better idea.
Promethean vision? Really? You want that -Yoink- again? No. There shouldn’t be anything, powerup or otherwise, that negates the function of another mechanic, in this case motion tracker. Ovies just extend shields, and invisibility doesn’t have an effected on any other mechanic aside form making your motion tracker blip look more neutral. Promethean vision negates the use of motion tracker, because it’s basically a wall hack. This should never be in Halo.
Teleportation? No. Maybe if it just a longer range/faster thruster pack, but teleporting through walls is stupid.

For the record, no one is -Yoink- on you out of pure close-mindedness, it’s just that your ideas are stupid. Come up with something that might actually accentuate points of gameplay the game was built for.
Damage boost and speed boost will probably return, but it’d be interesting if there were a powerup that simply upgraded all your spartan abilities. Jump Higher, maybe even double jump, hover longer or hover makes you levitate upwards a little bit, slide/thrust/charge farther, sprint faster, clamber faster or has more reach, increase ground pound range. something like that.

His ideas are stupid in your opinion, but i know a few people IRL who like them and i do to

I like how make it seem your opinion is the only opinion that matters!!
