New Playlists Ideas

Here are some ideas for how to restructure existing playlists and add new playlists:

Social:
Arena - 4v4 Strongholds, Oddball, Attrition, King of the Hill, Capture the Flag, One Flag
Big Team Battle
Last Spartan Standing
Team Slayer - 4v4 Team Slayer
Rumble Pit - 8 Player FFA Slayer, Shotty Snipers, Rocket Repulsors, Vampireball, Ninja Slayer, Fiesta
Cage Match - 1v1 Slayer. No weapon racks will be active. Equipment will be available around the map. Infinite ammo for weapons. BR variant, AR/Sidekick variant, Shotty/Sniper Variant, Sniper/BR Variant, Sniper variant, Skewer Variant, Shock Rifle Variant, Energy Sword variant, Rocket Launcher variant.
SWAT - 4v4 SWAT gamemodes
Action Sack - 4v4 Fiesta, Team Snipers, Snipers and Shottys, Ninja Slayer, Rocket Repulsors, Team Skewers.
Infection - 24 Player Infection on BTB Maps. Survivors get Sidekick and Bulldog. Infected have Energy Sword and No Shields.

Ranked:
Arena - 4v4 Oddball, Strongholds, Capture the Flag, King of the Hill
Attrition - 4v4 Attrition
Lone Wolves - 6 Player FFA Slayer
Team Slayer - 4v4 Team Slayer
Team Doubles - 2v2 Team Slayer
Monthly Rotating Playlist - 4v4 Team Snipers, 6 Player FFA Snipers, 1v1 Cage Match (BR Variant), SWAT, etc.

Custom Game Browser would then be able to fill in the gaps and allow people to find/host specific modes they want to play, such as Infection, Team Snipers, Grifball, etc.

I dont think there is enough players to populate too many playlsits. Queue times would be too long with less populated but more playlists.

Honestly you are dreaming 343 is too dumb to add a lot of playlist. Having only one ranked playlist is good right 343? So stupid

I dont see that as a reason to not add more though. And this isnt THAT many playlists compared to older Halo games playlist offerings, although they did have better starts to their life cycle and held player retention for a long time.

I think this is about the right number of playlists. All major portions of the experience are covered. There is a good amount of variety and not too much overlap in playlists. And if someone is looking for something specific or cant find a match in a certain playlist then custom browser can sort that out.

if i remember right halo 3 had 300k players worldwide a year after launch, i dont think 343 shows player pop but my guess is infinite has under 50k worldwide and then seperated into regions player count just isnt there. i do think they should add a couple more playlists though and to stop doing game mode specific challenges.

This playlist sounded fun
All jokes aside, there needs to be more playlists, but maybe this is too much? At least until Playercount goes up.

Maybe it’s just me but I think fleshing out the playlists but then relegating team snipers to action sack sounds insane to me.

While i can enjoy it team objective has such low popularity you can almost just force people to play ranked arena to play obj modes if you’re trying to keep the playlists minimal.

Doubles, snipers, infection and ranked FFA are needed. Grifball would be nice too once forge releases.

Thing is playercount isnt going to go up without more things to do, so introducing playlists now will be better in the long run

If they added 2v2 to infinite id come back and play it. I know a lot of other people would too.

BTB, where covenant forces also drop on the map, having to battle the other team and covenant.

I think in a game mode where there are also civilians on the map if you kill civilians points are docked, something to turn up the skill factor.

I would like to see more game modes where revive is enabled, being able to revive a teammate adds a good dynamic to the game. Promotes more teamwork.

First of all, the game requires a match composer. An advanced one that allows players to que modes/playlists across various environments simultaneously. Secondly, I’d like to see the playlist breakdown below provided. Thirdly, something close to this offering (minus new/less common modes like: LSS, Attrition, Land Grab, Extraction, Action Sack, & Stockpile) should’ve been there at release. Yet another big opportunity to seize on peak population has been lost. Sadly, it’s been a common theme by 343i’s games.
