Every firefight game I have lost it’s because we reach round 3 or 4 and the bottom 4 players on my team have between 1-5 kills and are still using a pistol. This coupled with the fact that firefight caters to a casual crowd (because it’s PvE, not talking about the difficulty) is making for an absolutely miserable experience for people like myself. By round 4 I always have some kind of tank out, now I begin to question if I should even bother wasting my reqs. You can see how this turns into a vicious circle.
Update: I made this post to encourage discussion on what can be done to help new players perform in a gametype that punishes people who don’t have/use requisitions. This wasn’t intended to be a flame post to new players, I welcome any and all to our Halo 5 community. But the reality of the situation is that new players don’t stand a chance in Firefight. A system should have been implemented that gave free trial users a leg to stand on, so they and the rest of the players on the team aren’t punished. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. The free trials will be ending soon and hopefully this will blow over.
Obviously, there was A LOT of feedback shared on people’s respective issues with Firefight (see: the official feedback thread) and hopefully those will lead to some positive changes for new and old players alike!
People on free trials should not be matched with the rest of us. Plaguing FF with people sub SR10. Guess I’ll not play it for the entire week unless I get a premade running.

I agree. I didn’t even consider that.

That’s exactly the problem, right there. I can’t even tell you how many games I lose, only to notice that 6 players on my team were between levels 4 and 8. They couldn’t spawn in a tank if they WANTED to. It ruins the game.
Its a pretty snobby attitude but I actually agree with not wanting to waste my REQs, when my friend and I are in wraiths trying to defend the Forerunner artifacts getting our -Yoinks!- handed to us only to realize that the other six players are at a safe distance plunking away with pistols and whatever else they can find instead of pushing the objective and protecting it… makes me not even want to waste my REQs anymore.
I think it should be open to those over SR20 only, unless they are in a fireteam (not party leader), my borther ocassionally plays with me, he’s SR18 but i keep spawning him reqs to use, i get more annoyed with the SR100+s not spawning anything

This is exactly it. I have always been the one to spawn the first heavy vehicle as soon as I can, because I know (at least from my perspective) when I see people using reqs it encourages me to use them myself. But now it has gotten to a point where those players can’t even use their reqs, because they either have no kills or are such a low rank. It’s a heavy load that cannot be carried and is unrewarding.
You know why? It’s because the REQ system that new players cannot enjoy playing Warzone. I have created new account and played Warzone, it was a bad experience that I hated it and did not have any REQs to use than I used to. Warzone is pretty unfriendly game for the new players.
new players op?
and they wanted us to win 40 times xD
I have run into a lot of players under level 20 today. Or JIP with them with a minute left to defeat the grunt goblin!
Even using low level read is better than nothing. The needler, plasma pistol, or even a carbine tend to do the job.

That’s an understatement right there. That with the already elitist and snobby attitudes shown here… man, if I were a new Halo player I’d drop it and stay clear from it and this community. Looks like the game isn’t the only thing unforgiving to new players…

Hahaha, that is unfortunate

Elitist and snobby attitudes shown here? Yikes, I think you’re confused. This is very clearly a real problem that needs to be addressed, there is no attitude involved in the equation. New players don’t have access to the reqs needed for firefight.
The same can be said for regular Warzone and BTB. I’ve been losing games when most of my teammates are newbs. If there is a hidden rank system, then I don’t why these people are even in my games.

That commendation is stupid, they should have fleshed out the Covenant and Forerunner kills ones longer because that thing is going to take AGES at this rate to complete.

Agreed. I don’t know how new players are supposed to get in to Halo 5 at all. I can’t imagine how much it must suck to play Warzone on a new account with no REQs while everybody else is pulling tanks and banshees and all sorts of rare power weapons.

Yes, they don’t have access to REQs, so instead of letting them enjoy the game and go through what we did all those months ago, let’s hop on Waypoint and say how new players ruin the game mode… that’s a much better idea, isn’t it?

Why not create a brand new account and play Warzone?

I have a second account that I use once every blue moon, and it is not enjoyable at all.

Your sarcasm is spot on.
Without new players, a game has not much of a future.
