New Player, Tech Tree and Key Bind Questions

Hello Everyone,

I picked up Halo Wars 2: Complete Edition via the recent Ultimate Games Sale, and I’m really enjoying it. I’m halfway through the main Campaign now and it feels like an excellent extension of the original game, which I enjoyed on my Xbox 360 a decade ago.

I do have a few general questions:

  1. Is there a tech tree .pdf or equivalent available for the game? The original had one, as well as a “unit counter” page on the now defunct original site. I’d love to look at one for the sequel if it exists.

  2. I’m currently playing with an Xbox Wireless Controller, as I’m bouncing between my PC and Xbox One X while playing the Campaign. Down the road, when I get in Multiplayer, I plan on using the Mouse/Keyboard. I looked at the default bindings, and their a little odd, and the Tutorial when played with Mouse and Keybord seems to have you looking for some functions that aren’t even bound.

Can anyone direct me to a layout to bind the game so it’s similar to StarCraft II?
3) Lastly, is there a site or resource that discusses general build orders and strategy?

I found the guide, or at least I think I did, but it looks incomplete. It’s an Excel Doc on Google Docs, but a lot of it looks incomplete, i.e. the Banished Units page is nearly all empty of stats and data…

Yeah the unit stats are not finished. The guide is aimed towards multiplayer so it might not be very useful for the campaign.

Definitely use the guide if you try multiplayer. It will give you a good base for each leader

Okay, so I am reading the correct guide, good to know.

And while I’m playing the Campaign now, it is indeed for future multiplayer play that I was looking for this.
