Do you think Skulls Halo 4’s Skulls (if there are any) should be the same ones we’re used to, or something different?
Personally, I think they should change it up a bit, but not quite as drastic as the Skulls in Anniversary. If nothing else, we need to have Grunt Birthday Party, and IWHBYD. Those are the only two necessary Skulls I really need.
I just want Grunt Birthday Party and the IWHBYD skull, I want the others along with some new ones. But, the older ones would have to be tweaked in a few ways.
I’m conflicted on the possible inclusion of an infinite ammo skull like Anniversary. While it was kinda fun, it took a lot of the difficulty out of earning the complete the campaign on legendary achievement.
I think skulls gets boring now
I agree with you that Grunt and IWHBYD is the only ones that’s necessarily to have
Mythic and the others should be there own difficulty not skulls

I agree. It was nice for some of the harder levels, but at the same time, you can just throw grenades at anything, and most of the time you’ll get through it.
I don’t like any of the poll options. I think we should have all the old skulls, maybe alter some slightly, and a lot of new skulls.

-Grunt Birthday, Cowbell, IWHBYD, Famine, and Black Eye are a must. Preferably all from H2 (H2 GBD could affect AI after they were dead, worked on almost any AI, and did splash damage / H2 Sputnik is the greatest force increase seen in Halo / H2 IWHBYD doesn’t have too much obscenity / H2 Black Eye is immensely invaluable), though I wouldn’t mind CEA’s Black Eye.
-Iron and Tilt are a must as well
-Blind should be more realistic (by not removing player model). But it’d be much better if the hud was customizable and Blind did not return.
-Tough Luck and Catch should lose their side effects (AI always berserk, AI kamikaze), which should be separate skulls or scrapped. AI wait time after throwing a grenade should be faster and their patterns should be desynchronized to make it seem more synchronized. H2 AI grenade throwing is quite scary.
-From H2, these skulls should return: Armory, Envy, Angry. I’d also like to see Ghost if AI are going to stumble a lot
-Thunderstorm shouldn’t elevate Grunts to Ultra unless not all of them are wearing helmets because not everyone turns on the skull for difficulty. It can be a fun skull
They said that the skulls will not make a return, but some new system will replace it instead. This has been confirmed many months ago.
There should be new skulls and old skulls. For example, I’d love for the Sputnik and original Grunt Birthday Party skulls to return.

I guess we really got spoiled with Bandanna. The problem is for some people, it kinda ruins the game. Especially if you want to play on Mythic.
I think skulls need a bit of an overhaul. There’s never any incentive to turn them on except for the fun Silver Skulls, there should be a greater reward for activating them - or make them all fun a la Grunt Birthday Party.
Think they should keep it like halo 3 skulls.

The easiest way to fix the ‘skull being fun at some points, being a downer at other points’ is to make it so we don’t restart the mission when we want to turn on/off a skull. That’s why I prefer H2 skull system even though it doesn’t have a skull menu and takes -Yoinking!- forever to turn on all the skulls. If I want the AI to throw grenades, I can turn on Catch. If I want them to stop, I can just turn off Catch by restarting H2.
I had a lot of grievances with H3 and sometimes Reach. It’s really irritating when I have to exit the game just to transfer/backup the game save. When I have to make multiple copies with different skull combos. In the end, I end up throwing away the game saves (except for the Reach ones since Liberty is a godsend).
Bandanna would be useful for getting to a certain point so I can practice from there with it off. With Reach, I often use game save modding, especially if there’s no easy skip available (TotS rally point alpha, Nightfall forklift) so I don’t have to go through some hellish/uninteresting combat scenarios just to get to a more preferable/BA/intense battle.
I’d love to see the following return;
Mythic
Famine
Malfunction
Recession
Eye Patch
Pinata
Grunt Birthday Party (Halo 2’s version)
Catch
Thunderstorm
IWHBYD
Sputnik
Assassins
And some new ones to boot.
But most of all I’d rather all of the classics return, just to keep everyone happy.
