Seeing how Warzone and Warzone FF work has gotten me to thinking that we need a harder Normal difficulty in order to create some challenge in Halo. In 343’s Halo games the normal difficulty in the campaign is essentially just Easy mode 2.0 so making the difficulty in Halo 6 harder but certainly not quite as hard as Warzone and WFF but be plenty enough to create a big challenge and add urgency to fighting enemies in the campaign.
Edit: Just a suggestion I know I can play on heroic or legendary, I’m not that lazy most of the time.

There are five difficulty modes. Easy, Normal, Heroic, Legendary, and the (unofficial) mythic. Rather than asking for the ‘normal’ difficult to be turned up try using one of the others. Each difficulty suits a different mood or type of player. If you don’t want a fuss you play through on Easy. If you want a challenge then Heroic or Legendary and maybe throw a skull on or two. I don’t see the need to fundamentally alter the nature of the difficulty levels.
If you want a challenge, you could just turn on a couple skulls.

I think a part of Halo 5’s problem comes from the forced Co-op/squad/revival thing. In previous Halo’s, Death was death, and your allies would be left outnumbered until you could respawn or they ended the fight. Now it’s “I’m down” Teammate walks up, picks me up at full health with a bit of overshield “Thanks!” It made the campaign feel…campy to me, since sure I could spam dying, but what fun is being down, especially when my shield and health are cut even on easier difficulties for a mechanic I didn’t ask for.
I don’t necessary dislike the squad mechanic itself, but I feel it came at great cost of the Spartan’s up close and personal power aside from a Spartan Charge combo on a single opponent.

Never heard about a rumored Mythic difficulty being added, sounds interesting

It is legendary with all the skulls on. It’s been around since Halo 3 (2 but you had to collect the skulls as you went and it wasn’t quite the same thing) The community calls it mythic, it isn’t an actual I can pick this difficulty setting, but it is there if you want a real challenge.
