New Mysterious Halo 4 OST - Requiem

Halo waypoint has released Halo 4’s latest track composed by Neil Davidge. Personally, I think it sounds great. I’d say it’s mysteriously grand.

Sounds creepy and just makes me want to explore Requiem. Loved it.

Holy santa clause -Yoink-

interesting.

Its like the first few steps you take on this mysterious world sets the mood for exploration only to be later mesmerized by the great mountain ranges and the big pylon-like structures in the horizon. The music is leaving me amazed and excited to play the Campaign and explore Requiem more!

Why is the game 4+ months away!?!

This is beautiful.

I can just imagine Chief emerging from the wreckage of the Forward Unto Dawn and beginning to venturing through the mysterious forests and the vast mountain ranges. The puffy white clouds hovering thousands of feet above. And seeing those ominous pillars hanging down from the sky…amazing.

I can’t wait to explore Requiem!

Am I the only one who thinks this plays when/if MC confronts the didact?

Loved it.

People keep saying it’s on Waypoint, but where do I find it on waypoint?

Very good. Loving his stuff so far.

me likey

Absolutely love it.

part of it is played on some of the videos

It’s very bland.

I must admit, I don’t think that sounds very good. First of all, it sounds very boring, it repeats itself all the way from the beginning to half way trough the song. The violins don’t sound good, I’m not exactly sure why I don’t like them, but they just don’t work for me. From two minutes onwards, I must admit a like that part little, very little. It still has the problem that it, too, sounds somewhat boring.

The more interesting sounds that distantly remind me of some of the Halo CE’s interesting songs such as Trace Amounts and Ambient Wonder are pushed on the background. Those songs in Halo CE fit very well into an alien environment and in my personal opinion, expanding on those background sounds, making them more varied and forgetting the string instruments would’ve been a better idea. Although I must admit that in such a case the song would serve its purpose better in some alien corridors and not as much in exterior spaces.

In short, it’s certainly not the best Halo 4 soundtrack I’ve heard, not even a very good one. The first seventeen seconds kind of make me expect something different, something more interesting and certainly not violins. Those seventeen seconds sound great, I think. They’re something that makes me want to explore an alien world, but then the violins kick in and kind of screw the mood for me.

One part doesn’t sound like the track from the First Look.

It’s fake, or better said, a pretty good cover from some guy.

awesome.

since the title seems to be “requiem”, i hope it’s played when we first see the world. john wandering through a dense jungle, then, at 1:08, he steps out of the trees and finds himself on top of a mountain/cliff, overlooking a vast forerunner world…

it reminds me of this.

Bet this is the music for the Halo 4 main menu.

I don’t know if that song is officialy part of the Halo 4 soundtrack… But I definetly know that some parts of it are.
But it’s still good and has that feel of discovering Requiem step by step closer to the ancient evil.

Go to the Halo 4 sections. You’ll find it there.
