I think the new mode is a war mode. It will have 100 people per match. 25v25v25v25 the teams? UNSC - plays as spartan, Covenant - plays as elite, Forerunner - plays as promethian soldier and Flood - plays as the infected Spartans gains ability to drive and use weapons. This mode will use all aspects of the halo sand box all vehicles and weapons from all games. There will be ai which will boost each team up to 100 each so 400 characters on at once 100 people 300 bots of various enemies. They already have a flood mode coming most likely and elites have been boycotted for a long time and somewhat confirmed they said elites and Spartans in war games together then the new promethian soldier looks spartan sized and may be playable this I belive is the new BTB/Invasion/Firefight 343 will be revaling.
I hope not. These types of game modes never work.

Only 25 Spartans 25 elites 25 promethian and 25 flood the rest are ai grunts jackals different flood forms marines knights watchers crawlers hunters brutes drones
If you like crashing then yes. This is a great idea
All of the people keep asking for 50 VS 50 BTB this is the same amount of players I don’t see how ai would be that stressful ever seen dead rising 3?

Maybe a Halo Reach space battle multi-player VS game type?
It is going to be a BTB styled game type. Space battles do not have all of Halo’s sandbox elements. Also, I am sure they can pull a bigger BTB like 25v25, or maybe 32v32. It wouldn’t really be a crash fest, BF4 has 32v32 and it runs fine. I believe it will be something similar to a BTB style because Halo’s sandbox elements cover a vast range including vehicles, weapons, combat, etc.
I am not saying 100v100 because that is ridiculous in size. Although a 32v32 BTB with AI and multiple objectives would be neat. In Halo 3 they cut a game mode similar to a “War Mode” which could of worked, but it was unfortunately… cut.

It could have all the sandbox elements if it was sort of a take on space battles in Star Wars Battlefront 2 with the hangars.

There’s hinting at a BTB esque space battle game mode in Halo 5

I think it’ll be more like firefight, but on a massive scale with flying vehicles, huge battles, and way more players
I think the new mode is going to be a revamp of Invasion but very influenced by Titanfall. 8 v 8 with AI enemies on the battlefield as well (show off that cloud technology!). Large battles that includes all the weapons and vehicles in the game. There will be a kill streak reward system like CoD (ordnance drops) but it will work more like Titanfall’s Titan system. You gain points based on kills (AI = 1, Players = 5, vehicles = 10). At 25 points you can call in a power up or grenades, 50 points you call in a power weapon, 75 points call in a light vehicle (hogs, ghost, etc.), and at 100 call in heavy vehicles (tanks, etc.). Once you call something in it will spend your points, so you’ll need to save up for the big stuff. The game types will be slayer and objective based.

That’s very much like the Homefront battle point system where you get points for kills, captures, assists etc and you can spend them on weapons, attack drones, airstrikes, vehicles and more. I would love to see this type of money system in a large scale multiplayer mode, imagine calling in a scorpion or a mac blast! It could also kinda be like in Halo Wars with its resource system.

Well if dedicated servers couldn’t handle 100 players and ai what about 4 teams of 8 with ai of various kinds for back up.

To be fair, the new Battlefront brought the ships into the atmosphere right above the ground battlefield. They said they didn’t want to have two isolated battlefields.
My own personal two cents on what the new mode might be? Just everything. Every weapon, every vehicle, different playable characters, large battles, and cloud powered.
I’ve always dreamed of a 16 v 16(maybe more) game mode where it is broken into two 8 v 8 battles. One battle taking place on the ground as a fairly normal big team battle except with the objective of securing an EMP device. The second group of 8 v 8 takes place in orbit above the ground battle, fighting for control of a ship in a kind of king of the hill fashion. Which ever team has control of the ship can send down supplies( like weapons or vehicles) to their team on the ground but only if their team has control of the EMP device or the supplies will be knocked off course. To steal some ideas from Titanfall, the battles could be beefed up with bots(a lot smarter though) to make it feel as if you’re taking part in an actual war and maybe when a team hits the point limit(wins the match) the winning side up in space could have the option to drop down to the battlefield in drop pods to hunt the remaining players of the losing side while they try to escape. Obviously there would need to be all of Halo’s vehicles present(both land and air, along with new space vehicles). I just think it would be really cool to have two separate battles happening at the same time that affect each other.
How about this: each player leads a team of three AIs similar to campaign. You get three factions, and every match has two fighting against eachother: Covenant (players are Elites with a team of Grunts/Jackals), UNSC (players are Spartans with a team of marines/ODSTs), and Promethean (players are Soldiers and lead a team of Crawlers/Watchers). Let’s say there are five players per team, and three times as many AI. Playing, killing and completing objectives earns you points which you can use to call in vehicles, or tough enemies (Hunters, Knights, marines in Mantises, whatever). All of this happens on huge, diverse maps.
