New Melee Weapon

Yea, so I am a big fan of gladitorial-style weapons (melee), and I feel as though the humans needs one. Also, since the sword is overrided by the Hammer and usually the shotgun (if the shotgunner knows what he or she is doing), I think they could implement a rock/paper/scissors system with three melee systems. Here is my idea:

The Magnafist: UNSC glove that uses magnetic fields to accelerate and repel. Beats Gravity Hammer by catching hammer and taking down user, loses to Sword because Energy Blade slices through Magnetic Field.

On the topic of gladitorial weapons, this isnt a melee weapon, but I think it would be cool: since the covenant has no true sniper, how about somne form of alien crossbow for the Elites?

A third form of melee would be interesting…

Not sure about the Magnafist though, I don’t like the idea of glove based melee weapons.

Also, crossbow = badass.

i think they are balanced, the sword has a longer range than the hammer so can beat the hammer if used correctly.

Also, i want a crimson Energy Sword.

Still think humans need some form of melee weapon.

And team color swords would be pretty cool.

Just what we need…

More redundant weapons that just do the same thing.

and to answer the last paragraph in the OP, it’s called the Beam Rifle.

I think the shotgun is technically considered a melee weapon due to its short range and punch(about the same range as the sword or hammer really), but yeah, something along the lines of a really big knife or whacky-thing would be cool…

M1 Particle Shield

UNSC infantry shield carried like Jackals, but more cumbersome and is flat like the Elite variant. deployed by zoom button, where movement is slowed slightly. Full speed recovered when deactivated.

I’ll repeat what I said there though, having a human sword-like weapon would be incredibly redundant, especially since they have the Shotgun to fill their short-range weapon roll.

Some people might bring up the DMR and BR being in the same game, which is a valid point. However, while similar, both weapons fill a different gap, being long ranged and medium range, respectively.

The humans don’t need a melee weapon, nor would they benefit in any way of having one. The only reason for doing so would be “because it’s cool” rather than useful.

The difficulty swords would be cool, but a little out of context. there would have to be a futuristic aspect to it that would make it fit in.

And while the shotgun does fit the short-ranged slot, UNSC should have an actual melee weapon for the sake of having one.

The beam rifle isnt a true sniper. However, Ill admit that it is supposed to be the covenant sniper.

Anyway, on the crossbow, how about a Static Bow. Hits the opponent then sends a shock causing damage. Could be like the grenade launcher in that it doesnt shock until you release the trigger, that way you can inflict the damage when your teammates approach.

Beam Rifle =/= Focus Rifle

I understand that those arent the same weapons. I just accidentally typed the wrong thing haha. Im just proposing an idea for people to talk about. And, yes, Ive played them all.

The new enemy probably has a melee weapon as well. Also I’d like to see sentinels try to ram you sometimes. Maybe a human melee weapon could be something like a combonation of the russian shovel thing, and a human style energy weapon, maybe the sides of the bladed parts will glow with energy.

Anyway, I do get your point. I just believe that a rock/paper/scissors would be great for map design in forge and custom modes. And because I love going gladiator on people.

Also, in my experience, the energy swords range can be nullified with a well-timeed grav hammer.

I like the idea of a rock, paper, and scissors gameplay with the melees.

Hammer, Sword, Axe.

how about a energy sword that deflects built’s i seen before in the halo universe seen elites do it so why cant we do it in mm???
