New map: The Pit - coming November

Well frankly because I have a life outside of this game so I have things to keep me entertained.

How does that have anything to do with the situation Halo Infinite is in right now? Many people are extremely disappointed.

and rightfully so,

The world premire…the celebration of 15 years of H3…was a incomplete, untextured half baked forge remake that won’t be playable until november at minimum…

The worst is that considering the other fantastic things we’ve seen coming out of forge, the other things that have been created using the same forge…and -THAT- is the effort they put into this

Its so much worse than anyone could have predicted

My G, I’m gonna be honest. I don’t think there’s any positive way to spin this.

They said world premiere and we got one map. I’m happy about the map don’t get me wrong, but I’m unhappy about the 2 month wait.

I mean, damn. They could’ve had a Q&A or something.

It is a nice looking map- I’ll give 343 that much, and it does effectively demonstrate that Forge can produce dev quality Maps. Its too bad we’ll have to wait at least a month and a half to play it.

Seems Cool

The important piece here is that the map looked and played very smoothly in my opinion. I look forward to slaying on this remake.

1 Map releasing… wow. I want to be excited for the future for Halo, but I just can’t.

I think we all look forward to the map, but I feel like, what the f!
November.
I was expecting to be able to play this map today, or some more Halo 3 maps.
3 months for one map, wtf man.
You guys just need to show a little more patience with this game!
haha
Im over it.

I thought that was the point.

343 billed this as “Throwback Throwdown” and “World Premier” trying to build huge hype around the 15th anniversary of Halo 3.

And then they only come out with a half baked remake of one Halo 3 map that isn’t even ready until November?

Throwback Throwdown would be a great name for a playlist of classic maps and classic game settings in Halo Infinite. And it would be a perfect way to please older fans while still reaching the “broader audience.”

Looks great. I tend to prefer remakes to be reimagined.

But it would have been much better as an “off the cuff surprise” than a “world premier”.

It’s like 343 like the negative attention.

IMHO I would rather have liked to have seen a BloodGulch or even a Danger Canyon map instead!

Peace! :fist_right: :fist_left:

I mean you know, do other things in the meantime.

U-untextured…? Why do you think it was untextured, please answer me that question because that’s a really odd thing to say.

C’est la vie, they’re playing catch-up 'til March, seems. Happy it’s coming eventually.

Yeah! Performed fantastically, loved watching that stream.

Was really cool to see Halo 3 pros at it again, they haven’t lost their step a bit either.

You expected to play on an unreleased canvas map without forge, today? Really?

How is it half baked? You people keep saying this.

You had to know at a 4v4 event, there was no way.

It seems like they’re 6 months behind on content (obviously). They just released a bunch of Easter type coatings and this new map looks like it was supposed to be part of the Neon SuperFly event.

Would it even be worth playing this version? It’s way too futuristic for it to be a proper Pit remake. Even the version in Halo 4 looked much better than this, though personally the Halo 3 rendition will always be my favorite.

If they just stuck with the construction/warehouse/training facility theme (you know, with the yellows, the greys, etc.) and made it look like it was noon, I think it would have gotten a better reception.

They didn’t have to go with the dark neon aesthetic. That was an active and conscious decision that 343 made. Aside from being frustrated at the deviancy from classic Halo maps, I’m just baffled as to what kind of decision making process could have lead to a dark neon version of the Pit. I mean, does anyone get why 343 would do something dumb like that?

Personally, I like the dark neon aesthetic, but I can see where your coming from, the original design of the map is great.

Yeah, that’s definitely an odd thing about The Yappening.

Naaaah, I think it’s just meant to look like it takes place on a skyscraper. It IS slightly too purple though.

You actually care that it doesn’t look the same?

Like.

Did you… Mind, when Bungie remade maps and they looked, completely different? Like Blackout? Because Blackout is a remake of Lockout that has very particular design changed in map flow some pros hate compared to the much beloved Lockout.

But, it’s still Lockout.

Yeah and Halo 4’s was a broken version set somewhere else entirely.

But who cares if it looks different? It plays large the same but it IS different, in interesting ways. Having a ledge + all of Infinite’s new mechanics they accounted for is… pretty cool.

This was an endeavor.

Unfortunately have to agree with this. I was expecting so much more given the hype. If this had just been released today maybe it would have been better, but even then… It was a very underwhelming way to mark H3’s anniversary

„It can’t get more underwhelming“

343: hold my beer.

Absolutely embarrassing. As usual

I agree, the fact they called it a world premiere and it’s only one map and we have to wait for a month and a half is just so disappointing, they shouldn’t have hyped it up so much.
